I third that. Meg is beyond cute.

Foo Fighters - Have A Cigar(Pink Floyd)

I recently bought "discovered covered" which is a tribute to Daniel Johnston, with one CD of original stuff and one CD of covers from various artists. Some highlights include:

Don't let the sun go down on your grievance - Clem Snide

Living Life - Eels

Walking the Cow - TV on the Radio

Dream Scream - Deathcab for Cutie

Go - Sparklehorse and the Flaming Lips

Like a Monkey in a Zoo - Vic Chesnutt

Actually, the whole thing is amazing but those I found were my favourite covers anyway. Beck covers "True Love Will Find You in the End" but it feels flat to me (not pitch, just emotionally)... although I like the harmonica.

[Shiri]

I like Beck's version. I think I prefer it over Matt's.

[Ravenous megin-sane]

thank you christine, sydface and shiri!

I probably do too... I don't particularly like Matt's, but for me the original version is hands down the best

[folk singer]

the Afghan Whigs version of the Supremes' "Come See About Me" is pretty wicked too BTW

Jamie Cullum has a whole bunch of cool covers on his albums, Twentysomething & Catching Tales. If you liked that, you should check 'em out.

Occasionally when I'm bored, I'll go to hypemachine and randomly search for covers, and I have just about 100, ranging from awesome to hilarious to meh.

I'm not much for covers, for the most part (did enjoy the oasis "hey hey, my my", though), but how has this not been posted, just for the fun of it, at the very least http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_N3CK-6CHk

Ok here's 2 really good covers by Weezer:

Hit Me Baby One More Time (Britney Spears)

My Velouria (The Pixies) (30 second clip only, couldn't find full song, hit the play button on the right side)

That's a bloody brilliant cover. Thanks for posting !

The weezers are great, and the stone roses are always bloody brilliant. I have an mp3 of Weezer doing Brown Eyed girl somewhere.
