I watched the show. I'm fucking pissed, but I do have to share one moment of music geek-ass excitement...

 

Blue Rodeo beat out Finger Eleven for Group of the Year.

 

Logically speaking, if it didn't go to Finger Eleven, than it probably should have gone to Headley...but no, they decided to give to the group I was actually rooting for (AKA the long shot).

the Junos are a prime example of what is wrong with awards ceremonies like this, Matt should have won, I'm not saying this as a fan, I'm saying this as someone who appreciates music a great deal. Matt poured out his soul on Hospital Music in a way that I don't think he ever has. The album is personal, powerful and extremely emotional. I've heard Them vs. You vs. Me and I can tell you, it doesn't come anywhere close to HM.

Another thing to realize is that a lot of people don't consider Canadian bands successful unless they manage to break through in the US and have some decent success there, and that seems to be the trend in Juno award winners as well.
