Death Cab For Cutie - Narrow Stairs

I'm undecided about this album. It hasn't really touched me yet.

What's everyone think of the new Death Cab For Cutie cd. I'm really fallling in love with it..but as far as I'm concerned its no Plans ;)

It's definitely a change in style from plans and transatlanticism however it might just be my favorite one. Every track is solid, especially Bixby Canyon Bridge and The Ice Is Getting Thiner.

 

Only thing which would have been nice is getting the radio edit of possess your heart, The first four minutes are just a simple drum beat which I find my self always fast forwarding through. Don't get me wrong, I hate skipping through music and being picky, take my ipod out of the 8,500 some tracks on it, there all complete cds in their entirety. But thats besides the point, it's a great album which I recommend you get. (And pay for.)

I've only listened through it once, and was supremely underwhelmed by it.

 

The transition between "No Sunlight" and "Cath..." is very well done. I'll have to listen to it a bit more before I make any other judgements.

It definitely grew on me, at first I didn't really feel anything listening to it but after a few more listens, it's definitely a solid CD but I still can't judge every song on its own.

I've only had time to listen to it twice...it's no plans and it doesn't seem to grow on me...even I Will Possess Your Heart is annoying after three minutes of having the same bass line over and over again

 

I'll see how it goes but it's a deception as of yet...

No denying that the lead off track is fantastic. I think for me it will be impossible to top Plans or Transatlanticism but I still think Narrow Stairs is a good album.
