I question the wording of the promo picture. I wonder how many people are going to see this and say something like "OMG, Matthew Good Band???"

Though I would not be surprised if that was, for some reason, intentional...

hahah

thats hilarious

That's crazy. When I ordered my Edmonton ticket, it was at like... 12:50, and I got left center in the orchestra pit, row F.

which is awesome.

i tried a bunch of variations to try to get the best tickets possible and it seemed the only way to get decent seats in the centre section was to buy a block of 8... which only means that ticketmaster is catering to scalpers by offering them the best seats.

i'll either wait until the general public sale starts and see if it opens the good sections or i'll make the call.

full band and no GA? pretty lame sitting down at that sort of show...

Sitdown shows for full bands actually isn't too bad. I just saw Josh Ritter, and it was sit down, assigned seating, and people tend to be more respectful to the artist and to the people around them, and also they can get into and appreciate the music a bit more. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind jumping around during Matt's harder songs, but I think this could be okay.

I got my Edmonton tickets right at 10 am, got Row B, Left side.

I'm tremendously excited.

I'll be four rows behind you!

you're just off to the side of the orchestra pit, no?

I think so. I studied the seating charts and then remembered that the Jubilee seating is really complicated now after the renos and then gave up. Row B was a good enough description for me. Heh. I'm already counting the days to the show.

That's something I've been a little miffed about in the past few days. I have a long history with the Imperial Theatre in Sarnia and the last time I checked, the theatre manager didn't get full bands because it's just not that kind of theatre. But the last time I checked was almost five years ago now (long story).

Having said thatI'd be crazy to start asking questions about ethics or traditions, though. I'm the one that's getting two Matthew Good shows in less than a year in a town that rarely makes the effort to get the little artists that mater - and, in the case of our dear Matthew, when we do, we fuck them over so badly they have to be careful, if they come back at all.

And then I'm questioned by co-workers when I tell them I'm leaving this Hellhole as soon as I have the money.

I'm debating which venue to purchase tickets for.

Imperial Theatre

(Sarnia, Ontario)

Centre in the Square

(Kitchener, Ontario)

Hamilton Place Theatre

(Hamilton, Ontario)

Centennial Hall

(London, Ontario)

They are all kind of in the same area and since I'm coming from the U.S. I don't mind driving the extra few minutes.

Does anyone have any advice on which to chose/which is the best venue/how likely will I be to get decent seats?

Thanks in advance.

I honestly have no idea where Virginia is. I'm ignorant on alot of US geography. The only info I can give you is that if you cross into Canada through Detroit, MI, London is the easiest/quickest one to get to.

I am debating trying to get tickets to London. The thing that sucks is that it's a Wednesday night and I work every Wednesday night and it's an hour and a half drive. grrrr. I mean, I'm seeing his acoustic show in Detroit but I haven't seen a full band show in a few years.
