Any one else 'round these parts a fan?

He's doing a Canadian tour starting next month. I'll be seeing him at the Commodore in Van on Feb 23rd!

I'm seriously in love with his music, I sing it everywhere I go. He's worth every penny. And he's one dashing gent too!

In some pictures he reminds me of Nick Drake.

I'm definitely going to the show in Van.

I have "The Animal Years" and enjoy it. What other albums does he have of similar or better quality?

Edit: and I recognize your "member title" as being from Monster Ballads. Great song.

Heh, I forgot I even had that. It's been a while since I've been on the Bored...

I'd really suggest Historical Conquests, or Hello Starling.

I only have Historical Conquests and Animal Years, and they are both fantastic.

He is such a great storyteller in his lyrics (Thin Blue Flame being a PRIME example.)

Indeed. Girl in the War and Thin Blue Flame are the reasons I decided to buy Animal Years. I've been addicted to him since. I actually found him through Matthew Good's blog, he had a post about Girl in the War, and he quoted a line from Thin Blue Flame, haha.

Some of his songs are so fun to listen to aswell, like Wolves, To the Dogs or whoever, and The Next to the Last Romantic. He's so well rounded as an artist.

That's how I found about him too, and now he's one of my faves.

animal years is good. i don't much fancy the new album.

Yes!

After I heard Matt's cover of Girl In The War, i got Ritter's stuff.

It's pretty damn good.

My band even covered girl in the war.

Recommend some good songs that I should check out. I only know Girl In The War.

Thanks, I'll check these out and let you know what I think.

Check out Rumors too.

His new CD The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter is just plain incredible music, but the Animal Years was way imo.

Add Best For The Best to that list.

I checked out the songs mentioned and wasn't all that impressed. Kind of boring.

if you don't dance when you hear to the dogs, you have serious problems

My favourite song is probably One More Mouth...

Edit: Lillian is amazing too, but in a totally different way.
