carmelina is an avenue in los angeles.

matt was staying at a hotel in l.a. while writing audio of being, every time he looked out the window he saw the street sign and wrote a song about it.

Ooo...smart songwriting for a gorgeous song. I always thought it was taken from his story about his flight home from Europe and how he literally had a conversation with his deceased grandmother.
