I haven't been here in a while. I might come back more often...but probably not.

Anyway, does anyone know any bands that are similar to Neutral Milk Hotel? Yes, you could be a smart-ass and say "go look at AMG" but they usually just throw together random bands for similarities. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is probably the best album of the '90s.

Sometimes The Decemberists remind me of them. But honestly, I can't really think of any band that's all that similar to Neutral Milk Hotel.

Yeah, they have a pretty distinct and bizarre style, which I never liked. They sort of remind me of Pavement in some ways, but that's the closest I can think of.

I never really gotten into them either. I love Oh Comely though, great lyrics.

In some ways Arcade Fire & Daniel Johnston remind me of NMH...

And sometimes, ever so slightly, Of Montreal...

Yeah, I can see the resemblence between Arcade Fier and them.

Anyway, you inspired me to download both NMH albums, I'm listening to them right now. Don't know why I didn't like them before because I surely like them now!

I would definitely say the Decemberists
