  1. I don't really see why everyone likes her so much. Her music is pretty boring in general. That 1 2 3 4 song is terrible. My Moon, My Man is merely OK.
  2. Raisen Bran. One of my favourite cereals.
  3. I had McDonalds for the first time in years (literally).
  4. The reason I asked is because it was an item on a research study I was administering a few months ago, and I got a lot of very interesting answers, as well as a lot of complaints about the question itself (what it leaves out, assumptions it makes, etc.) so I figured I'd share.
  5. Some trail mix I made myself and a few beef peperettes.
  6. There's nothing out yet that is like "holy shit I really want to play that!!!" The closest is Zelda, but the last few Zelda games have been letdowns. Actually, they kind of started going downhill after Ocarina of Time...
  7. I was about to post this. It sounds awesome.
  8. Hahaha I love this course. Another cool fact. This one is paraphrased from my notes, to omit some of the boring anatomical shit: Male crabs have sperm that solidifies in the female's vaginal opening, preventing her from being fertilized by other males. However, males don't mate-guard for the female's entire vulnerability period, and will leave if they are unsuccessful at mating. Females have evolved a "fake vagina" so that after their first successful mate has abandoned them, they can trick another male into guarding them by having him use a fake (and not sperm-plugged) vagina, thereby making him think he has mated with her sucessfully.
  9. I think this thread deserves some reviving and a second shot at life. Black-tipped hanging fly males provide edible gifts to females in order to be considered as mates. She will only mate for as long as it takes to eat the food item, and males require about 5 minutes for successful sperm transfer, so if their gift is too small, they are unsuccessful.
  10. Being fat or being evil?
  11. I can't tell if you'd be super jolly like Santa, or super evil like The Prince of Darkness (not that he's fat)...
  12. Yeah, or maybe the division of wealth is different, etc. But still, the statement remains, and just by reading the original post, would you say "yes" or "no"? Edit at Adam: obviously there will be a ton of assumptions in any sort of statement like this, but my interest is in people's response to the original question, and in the assumptions they are willing to make in order to make that distinction, and, in turn, which assumptions they feel are valid and/or neccessary in order to provide an answer. Edit further: Personally, I feel that if you made the environment 'perfect,' in that the populations of every race were equal, their economic and social opportunities were identical, et cetera, it would be ludicrous to say anything other than "stop them more often," as the only distinguishing factor in that case is race itself, and there are no compounding or hidden variables (that mitigate this conclusion).
  13. Oh c'mon. No one's actually giving a firm opinion. I don't really have one either, but here's an interesting point I considered: Isn't it descrimination to NOT stop the group with the greater crime % more often? Lets say (just for the sake of discussion) that there are only 2 racial groups: black and white. If there were an equal amount in the neighbourhood, and blacks commited 60% of the listed crimes, isn't it racist to NOT stop them more often? If you're in the extra 10% of whites being searched, aren't you being unfairly stigmatized as being equally likely to be a criminal? How is this different from the already present economic and gender descrimination? Obviosuly there are a ton of other factors to consider, but I'm just playing a bit of devil's advocate.
  14. Suppose that, in a particular neighborhood, most of the people arrested for gang activity, drug trafficking and gun violence belong to a particular racial group. Do you think that it is alright or acceptable for the police to randomly stop and search people who belong to this racial group more than they stop and search those from other racial groups?
  15. My dad has one, but he's moving and it's in a box somewhere, so I haven't been able to play it nearly as much as I'd like.
  16. Heh, I can't tell if you're being a smartass or exhibiting some nice insight into the clear diathesis often exhibited by these illnesses.
  17. Born Losers, without a doubt. This topic has been done before though, and may be closed/merged. Just a heads up. You may wanna use the Search feature in the future.
  18. Often it's genetic, and although I'm one of the biggest existentialists you'll ever meet, one can't deny that oftentimes there are clear hormonal reasons for their hyperphagia (such as low leptin levels.)
  19. Everything that isn't Poke`mon. Especially Cognitive Psych.
  20. Hahahaha can't believe I missed this! Is he a traitor because he stayed with Ash, or a traitor because he considered leaving?
  21. Oh FUCK yes! Poke`rap!!
  22. Yeah, good call. Pokemon was actually pretty awesome back in the day, and they got greedy and ruined it.
  23. The ultimate brunch: PB and J.
