Man, I really don't "get" Explosions In The Sky. Most of thier stuff just seemed boring to me, although I only listened to one album. Thursday - Signals Over the Air

Last night was a set of firsts for me. It was the first time I've been someone other than myself in a dream, and also one of the first times I can recall dreaming in first person perspective (like in real life.) It was crazy. I dreamed I was a hot, middle aged actress who had a twin. Aliens were coming down to Earth, and there was all this mad panic, religious talk, political discussion about almost every country trying to get nukes just in case the aliens proved hostile, etc. It was crazy. But the most notable part was looking at my dad (who looked middle age himself and blonde. Hahaha weird) and wanting to tell him I loved him so much it almost broke my heart in two. It was SO powerful. I remember just looking at his face and being wrenched in pure adoration.

Fantastic album. I don;t know if it's better than Deloused, but I love them both, and I fucking hated Frances the Mute. My fav track so far is definitely Ilyena. Edit: I will agree with Shade that I don't like his new vocal style very much.

Most of the songs people are listing are "meaningul" but not really "philisophical." I'd go with Can't Get Shot in the Back If You Don't Run, as there is actually some degree of philosophy to be potentially analyzed.

I can't edit for some reason... I also think that it's "million ears" not "millionaires." "Here they come again/those million ears to deafen it all out." Makes more sense, and if you listen close it sounds more plausible.

I'm really hearing the "you'll never turn the lights on" as "you're a mleting pot son" or something. Maybe I'm just crazy. Also, I think it's "Miles away from here/where the air in my head gets clear."

I really enjoy the explosion of sound around 2 minutes in. It's very intense and powerful. The song as a whole is decent, and has definitely increased mt excitement for the next album. The lyrics are a little "meh" though. Maybe I just don't "get" them. I'm gonna find me a volcano that's all mine?
