Yeah I feel like the Druid and Zon were both a lot weaker than the other 5 classes. Most fun class to play by far was the Assassin, IMO. She wasn't the strongest, but hasd a lot of skills you'd actually use, so you'd be hotkeying a lot, and doing lots of cool shit. I had a sick Lightning Trap Assassin with the kick skill and a lot of crushing blow gear, so she'd tear bosses apart almost as fast as a smiter, but be solid against mobs as well with the cool Corpse-Explosion trap. ...I played way too much D2.

The Mars Volta are definitely in my top 5 favourite bands, so I was super excitied when a buddy of mine sent me their new album. It's quite different from their other releases, but I think it's most similar to Amputechture in that it's a bit of a slow burner. It's definitely their "acoustic album" of sorts, though a few songs rock very hard. First impressions: I was a little jarred by just how long and slow a lot of the songs are. It doesn't really sound very "Volta" to me, but my first impression is that I like it, although that could just be my love of the band talking. My picks for standout tracks are Desperate Graves and Teflon (the two "traditional" Volta prog-rock tracks), which are both excellent, and Halo of Nembutals and Copernicus which are a little more chill, but still interesting. Desperate Graves: Edit: And I fucking spelled "Volta" wrong in the topic title. Mods?

Yeah I had a sick Zealadin with Fort, Grief, Exile, etc. As for an NF guild....FUCK YEAH. Knights of Near Fantastica? Sounds pretty bomb. Plus Matt Good isn't that well known outside of Canada so not many people will know what the hell we're talking about, but whenever someone does, it'll be a nice little surprise.

Sounds like a plan! And yeah, Diablo 2 ruined a few years of highschool for me. My friend and I eventually sold our accounts for a few hundred bucks each. I remeber on ladder at some point, Shakos didn't have a stable value, so we'd alternate making games "Soj for Shako" and "Shako for 2x Soj" and got stupidly rich in a few hours.

Ryan: Very catchy and enjoyable song that kept me interested for the most part, though I think it's a little on the long side. Shadow Mike: Sorry man, I couldn't get through it. It was very plodding and repetitive and didn't feel like it was going anywhere. Check the song Ryan posted for an example of something that moves around. I made a topic for this band once and no one liked it, but I'm letting you all repent your sins and enjoy this great band. I really love the break at 1:31: -
Awesome, thanks man. If anyone's familiar with Sondre Lerche, I just realized that what I'm looking for is a female vocalist doing something very akin to his album "Duper Sessions." Imagine it being a little less jazzy and a little more poppy, but with a chill vibe. Imagine if it were strings, rather than piano-driven. A tune from that record:

Thanks to both of you for the recommendations! Chris: Neko Case is alright, but a little too folky and not jazzy or stringy enough. But thanks! Michael: Thanks for sharing so much! Thievery Corporation is pretty close to what I was looking for, though the drums are still standard rock/trip hop. If you could somehow blend them, the untacky parts of Zero 7, and Nouevelle Vague, you'd probably have what I was looking for. But every band you posted is awesome, and I'll be checking them all out further (except maybe Zero 7). I am really digging Lamb after a few listens, so I'll have to check out more by them. Do you know Elsiane? I feel like you'd really enjoy them as it's the best chill female trip hop I've ever encountered. Lamb also reminds me of the good parts of Hooverphonic. Modifying my search criteria: In my oringal post I understated the jazyness because I didn't want to be getting things with a ton of saxophone solos and stuff, but try to think just a little bit jazzier than these tunes. <3 you all. Edit: Gomo, didn't see your post! I'm listening to it now. Edit again: It's quite enjoyable! And very close to what I'm looking for. Just a bit faster tempo and we're golden. If you like that song/vibe you may enjoy this tune:

OK, so I want some chill rock with a female vocalist, maybe with some strings. I'm looking for a slightly jazzy feel (triplet vibe in the drums, perhaps?) but no smooth-jazz bullshit or super boring and minimalist Bright Eyes style stuff. Should be relatively contemporary. Imagine something that would be playing at Chapters or Starbucks or something. I CANNOT find any bands that fit the above description, and I've scanned 3 different "streaming radio" sites. Posting youtube links in this topic would be awesome. I love you all.

That song fucking rocked! It reminds me a lot of that FlyKKiller song I posted awhile back. But yeah, totally different than what I was expecting and totally awesome. -
A friend of mine recently started using Google Chrome and he is loving it to death. He was also one of the biggest Firefox fanboys ever, so if it's made him change his ways, it must be awesome. I'll be installing it soon and sharing my experiences. Has anyone given this a shot?

Not bad! It started off a little abrasive to me, but once the vocals kicked in I really dug it. Ryan: I really wasn't feeling that. the whole thing just seemed a little too "loud"/obnoxious I really dig this band, and this song in particular. I'm trying to decide just how attractive the singer is. I mean, she's cute, but I think she's a few steps away from true hotness. -
I don't know why everyone is so pissed about this. Red Matter is awesome! Star Trek has always been about retarded and unexplained technology.
