  1. Ugh, Sparqy is making new accounts so that it looks like he has 'friends' defending him. So sad, so, so, so, sad.
  2. Outta left field or under the bleachers?? I don't think you should be too picky.
  3. Oh, Sparqy I think jessicadown wants you and your bad ass. And with a name like Jessica'down' I think you're in... hehe
  4. I didn't want to see it, but the GF did. I was surprised, it was much better than I expected, good for some laughs. Mindless entertainment.
  5. Yeah, if I remember right, the guy took off running towards a subway tunnel. I really can't blame the police, had he really been a terrorist we would have all been sing there praises. It's a bad situation all around.
  6. I've just sent an e-mail to the RCMP alerting them of the impending disaster on Ellesmere Island. I hope they take this tip off seriously! Don't be suprised if you see them start hanging out on these forums in the hope of catching the enlightenment that Maverick so sparingly provides.
  7. I really hope that you're not comparing your 'plight' on these forums to those of Copernicus.
  8. How about you're sometimes a cock? Jack-ass? Shit Disturber? Or a combination of all of the above?
  9. The difference is that Saturnine isn't always a dick, he does say relevant things on occasions. The same can't be said for Maverick.
  10. The gap between the rich and poor nations have become far to great. People are becoming desperate, and desperate times call for desperate measures. We may see a fundamental change in how world economics work in our lifetime.
  11. Some good points raised on both sides of the argument. I think the solution is forcing people to pay for visits deemed unnecessary. However then the problem arises of how do you deem what is necessary. Or worst yet, people don't go to the doctor for fear of having to pay. Or you can get a certain amount of free visits a year and then you must start paying (unless you're under the age of 18, or have an ongoing medical condition).
  12. Agreed, that should calm things down a bit. Though it's hard to be relieved when the 'good' option is the Liberals staying in power. However maybe by needing to buddy up to the NDP, it will have a positive affect on any new policy.
  13. I agree with Toadman. While the fetus is inside the mother, it is not it's only being. The instant that it is born however, it inherits all the rights given to any other human being.
  14. I'm sorry guys, but comparing Bush to Hitler is idiotic. While I think he is a horrible president, he hasn't committed half the atrocities Hitler did.
  15. Hypocrite or politician, not a whole lotta difference. They say what the people want to hear. You know Juanpe, you should be a politician. You never miss a chance to get your message out, no matter how tired and old it's become.
  16. Regardless of what the politicians think, I'm talking about what these men did, people our own age who went off to fight for something they believed in (at least many of them did). They had to know there was a good chance of not coming home again. And let's keep this away from becoming a rant against Bush, we all know how everyone feels about him.
  17. I guess it's just a fine line to walk, especially when those 'heroes' are still living.
  18. I've been following the V.E. Day celebrations the last week or so and it just leaves me speechless to read the stories of the soldiers who fought, and to see the size of the celebrations in Holland where they estimate over 200 000 came out to show gratituded to our veterans. It really is mind blowing, these men made a difference and were special. Most of the men who fought are around the same age we are now. I personally can't imagine what it would be like. Think of your concerns now, and then imagine what they went through. It puts things into perspective. It's sad to think that chances are our children will never have the opportunity to talk to a veteran of the war.
  19. The new war museum has opened in Ottawa and there has been a fair bit of controversy over it. The main reason is the inclusion of some of Canada's lesser moments (the torture of prisoners in Somalia comes to mind). Do you think this is appropriate?
  20. I wouldn't expect you too
  21. Why? Because in virtually every post I see you make you try to bring things down to the lowest common element. Life isn't as black and white as you try and make it sound.
  22. Jesus, you're making me feel sick, please stop... just a humble wish... just a utopia.
  23. I think she said it was May 3, but I'm too lazy to go and look again.
  24. The better question would be who is repsonsible for feeding the puppies? But anyways, as for the slippery slope argument, I think it comes from the fact that it is currently illegal to marry your cousin/brother/sister/mom/dad/whatever, but if you start making certain aspects legal, where do you draw the line. For example if you make it legal to marry first cousins, how is that any different than marrying your sister, etc.
  25. Or you're just stating whom you're near? But hey, that would be far to obvious.
