I have seen SHWTD, and read the book. Both are extremely powerful. The problem, however, is that they'll hardly see the light of day in the US, and likely Europe also; the main reason for it's existance is the national presence of Dallaire in Canada. For instance, in Belgium, the Rwandan affair was not only downplayed by the government, but Dallaire was publicly blamed for the death of their peacekeepers. At the same time, Dallaire has very little to say that's complimentary of the United States. This does not mean that he should soften his message; it just makes it less likely to be widely screened in the states.... See no evil, hear no evil, believe no evil.

"don't drink the water" - Dave Matthews Band (what? I had to! It was right there for the plucking!) -
you sure? i watched a commercial-less .avi of it, and i'm pretty sure it was close to 44 minutes, the usual total length of a show...

i won't pretend it's the best movie ever....maybe in the top-10 of the last decade though. Well worth it. Also worth watching is The 25th Hour, though it was not quite as good. Ed Norton is awesome in almost anything though.

not a big BSG fan, but damn! SG-A's season premiere was awesome! Both it and SG-1 were too jam-packed with action to even have opening-credits!

yeah, i'm sorry - "Where are you" sounds like crap - it's all bloated and pretentious, with a bad overall sound, stupid lyrics, and a self-importance about it. Rather like Raine himself.... ;) -

From Rebabaluba: "...Although you have a better chance of seeing old shit on Much More Music, they still play toned-down everything. And I think they spend way too much time plastering their gem; Karina Hubers face all over everything. Fuck she isn't even good looking!" Take that back! Blasphemer! Karina's definitely hot

well, I just graduated from University of Victoria (BA major in sociology, minor in geography); now I'm trying to figure out my next move, probably towards city planning in some form (which likely requires between 2 and 27 years of more schooling ;))

Hey, I think we scared off Mr. "easiest solution is to NOT break the law." hehe. excellent. Cool - I always hear good things about soc at UofT...not that York or Brock aren't good, it's just that UofT gets press and all their grads have huge mouths on them ;) p.s. sorry to any small-mouthed UofT grads, but you know you had it coming. : B)

And what many people who don't realize these facts do is to individualize the issue -yes, sure, Colin Powell grew up in the bad end of town and became the secretary of state - good for him; he worked hard, kept his nose clean, JOINED THE ARMY (a commonly used path "out" of the lower class). It doesn't mean it was easy - the fact that he made it that far does not mean he is the equal of Warren Christopher - it makes him better, as Powell had farther to go against greater resistance. Such individual examples don't disprove institutionalized racism, what is essentially one (of many) root causes of inequity, but merely distract from the overall issue. (p.s. where you going for your masters?)

wow...so DID you have to sell your virginity for your life? ;)

ahhh, but, Leno and Fergusen WERE stand-up comics, Conan WAS one of those staff writers, and Jon Stewart is also a stand-up comic/writer (who was also in some wretched movies....)

Yeah, "The Hour" - pretty interesting stuff. It only gets lame when he interviews rock stars though (funny enough), because it's supposed to be mostly current events...well, i shouldn't make that a blanket statement. I saw two rock-star interviews - the one with K-Os and Ben (from Billy Talent) was good, but he interviewed Dave Grohl, and it was kinda lame...but that's just my opinion only bad thing is that The Hour is on hiatus until september now...

What are you listening to?

isn't it just "Stabilo" now? THat always cracked me up - thye've been pushing the same (and as far as i know, their only) radio single for almost 4 years now, haven't they? I got some Coldplay going right now, but its only a brief hiatus from MG... ;) -
hey, i figured it was about time for the nay-saying no-fun-nik to show up ;) hehe. j/k Is this bootleg a previous edit of this release, or a production from long ago?
