Sound indie? wtf? -
WWII wasn't fought in the trenches. The only times soldiers ever got bogged down and stayed in the same location for length of time was when they were on a beachead (Anzio), stuck in a city (Ortona, Stalingrad) attacking a mountain/fortress (Monte Casino, Tobruk) or fighting through a fortified position (gothic line). WWII was a war of quick movement. Does the word Blitzkreig mean anything to you? Really? I wonder how I ended up with this Master's in History then? Maybe I bought it off ebay? Your list is wanting and pathetic. Where is the Franco-Prussian War that resulted in so much anguish over Alsace and Lorraine? Where is the scramble for colonies in Africa? Where is the naval arms race between Britain and Germany? Where are the cries for self-determination from Serbia and other would-be nations? Where is the list of secret alliances made between power blocs that made the war unavoidable following the terms set down by Austria-Hungary following the assassination of Franz Ferdinand? Doesn't really all fit under "pissing contest".

So militarism and nationalism had nothing to do with it, eh?

I don't think you can say it was only about Imperial ambitions though. It's motivations weren't as cut and dry as the second installment.

Good Will Hunting should have silenced any of Robin William's critics.

Then you must have zero knowledge of military tactics. The advent of the tank and precision bombing killed trench warfare.

Why do they need to expand their acting capacities? They're not out for Oscars or making super deep indie films that you'd get together with all your foreign friends in dark rimmed glasses to watch. Wedding Crashers, Anchorman, Zoolander, Meet the Parents, etc. were all great comedies. Nothing wrong with sitting down and having a good laugh now and then. on topic: 10 Things I hate About You

We joined in both world wars more because Britain told us to than for any high moral reasoning like stopping an oppressive invader. Anyone else find it interesting the Quebec was all about supporting France in the World Cup, but not in the World Wars? I'd probably join into the officer corps.

Basically anything off of Rage Against the Machine's Renegades, but top of their covers list has to be "Fuck tha Police" -

Best Song Lyrics

Sparta - Guns of Memorial Park This song always makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and turns my thoughts away from the rush rush of city life towards the serenity and calmness of my cottage. As much as I love ATDI, I think Porcelein might be the best work by any of its former members. -
I think some people here need to understand that sometimes movies are made to be lighthearted and not serious oscar hopefulls. This is obviously going to be a movie in the mode of say, 8-Legged Freaks. It's a farce, it'll have a lot of scary shock scenes, and a lot of lame jokes, and it will be awesome.

This whole thing is a pretty good testament to why the superpowers shouldn't create nations out of guilt and pity.

If you don't like Will Ferrell you probably have taste. As well as a lot of black clothing and some dashboard confessional CDs.

If you don't like Will Ferrell, you probably don't have a soul.

Have You Ever Considered A Career In The Military?
arteta replied to ecnarf's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
I like it, thanks everyone for paying your taxes ;) As far as the military goes, most of the people in the regiment here are complete losers and basically turned to the military because they had no where else to go. Kinda sad, actually. In the words of Mitch Hedburg, I'd never join the military because being "at ease" never really seemed all that at ease to me. I don't relax by parting my legs slightly. -
Yeah Sepp Blatter is talking about it...ugh what a joke that tournament was. First the horrible reffing, now this bullshit.

If we could have less diving, and more headbutting, I'd be all for it.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him get re-united with Ted Nolan out on Long Island.
