Okay im not sulking, the steps taken by brave iraqis is all very good But the people behind this election are americans you cant agrue that they have their hand in everything thats happened there for the last few years. They are the running the election and they could plausibly come up up with any number they wanted and report that to any press they wanted --> even foreign press against the bush Admin. Im sorry for seeming negative but people living in north america need to realize it!! The only way i support americans in iraq is if they start to work together with the opposing groups there today. This seems impossible i know but right now all they're going to accomplish is spliting the country in two.

Thats the point unles you are over there experiencing the election you dont know the truth. All your being told is the brave iraqis freed by the americans are standing up in the face of evil oppositon to come out to your so called 'real election'. Thank you george bush for the war! We knew you had a point to all the destrustion!! thank you thank you we can VOTE!! Even if the candidates wont even reveal their names ahah that doesnt matter im sure 72% of us will vote anyways. Dont get me wrong i dont belive the iraqi people are part of a conspiracy, its not them its us. Are minds are all warped by the news and its all twisted in favour of the west. Until we have media we can trust there is no way i believe anything we are told about the iraqis, and my heart goes out to them.

Please dont be so naive --> its not true Maybe 'Big brother' says that 72% of iraqis voted but we all know its someones agenda. Statistics are rule number one in the propagnada guide book.

Canadian Music is AMAZING!! you need that answer on your poll We have waay more diversity then the flem that comes from the states, and anything original in america just turns into consumerized crap in a few years. If you dont agree then you should pursue the candain music scene more... the problem is so many ppl write off canadian music that it is hard for the smaller but very talented musicains to get their stuff out there. Take Teagan and Sara for example they have been around for years, their stuff is ten times better then lots of the stuff on the radio (even my mom agrees!), they've been on conan obrien, and mtv and they still RARELY (as in ive never heard them on the radio in ontario) get played. This is a problem, we as canadian have to support our homegrown talent by requesting them and encouraging djs and venues to play them, so that other ppl can hear it and love it too. Theres tons of really great candian music out there. Heres some of my fav's have a listen --> tegan and sara, the arcade fire, the dears, death from above 1979, Of montreal, Broken Social Scene, The Marble index, Dallas Green, The Organ, Martina Sorbara, and the Reason Theres is tons im sure im forgetting and more i dont know of so please add to this list!! YAY canadians!!! -

The Killers

OC has had the walkman, modest mouse, the killers all play, there was a bright eyes comment and last episode they played a rilo kiley song and an elliot smith song. I think its a strange kind of torture. You have to endure the terrible acting to see which one of your favourite musicians are gunna sell out next. -
hes the gutairist from alexisonfire.... he is doing a small solo tour right now. His solo stuff is really different then alexisonfire its more relaxed and pretty much all acoustic, and his vocals are amazing.

sorry this is kinda a tangent ... but i think its really hard for young people follow a religion these days. We have grown up in a 'politically correct' world and i dont think its possible for me to dedicate my life to a higer power. It feels like a cult no matter what book what its from.

Do People Have The "right" To Commit A Crime?
jhark replied to ecnarf's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
I dont think there is much difference between a dog sniffing around your car for drugs and a policeman making you take a breathalizer test is the same level of intrusion to me. But i dont believe in the breathilizer as a fair system for patrolling drunk driving because it is open to alot of circumstances where it's validity can be affected. About the policeman not allowed to search your car without warrant im not sure if that true because its defintly happened to me and lots of other friends before. The only thing a cop cant do is hold you at your car for more then 15 minutes if he isnt charging with anything yet. As for the drugs... its a topic that takes alot of thinking. So much harm comes from drug use and drug trafficking that it seems the easiest way to control the inevitable use is to legalize it as with tobacco and alcohol. But it seems to me that there will always be something else that someone mixes up that you can't get legally. People are always drawn to what they can't have. As for having the right to commit a crime? Im not sure that makes any sense. When you do something illegal that means you dont have the right to do it and it doesnt matter who catches you doing it a police dog or a investigation. You cant take about something in terms of a "crime" and agrue your right to do it. -

Those New Bright Eyes Joints...
jhark replied to notgay's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
A week ago i would have defended bright eyes That was before i saw their show at the phoenix last friday. Conor Oberst is the most arrogant person ive ever seen, he was completely wasted and spat on everyone. He really made it clear that he couldnt care less about his fans and although some may argue this behavior is part of his charm i dont agree. I was really disappointed that fame can change even the greatest of artists. -
I just saw Dallas Green live last night and i was really impressed. Has anyone else heard his new solo stuff? His ep city and colour/ the death of me is beautiful. I have a feeling he will be around for a very long time.

because that's the way hierarchys work, whether you like it or not It doesnt necessarily have to be a hierarchy though. You are just to much a product of your society to see it that way. Try to think in a more revolutionary way ... instead of saying who would do this job better... ask if theres something wrong with the position because nobody can seem to get it right? You cant drive a car with a broken engine by replacing the steering wheel...i know you all loved the metaphor ;) Its a really hard thing to do,i agree it seems impossible for such a huge change to actually happen. Its up to us though and if we are unhappy with the state of our world its up to us to make it right not complain that someone else isnt.

I agree with whats been said about selling out only being when a band changes their original music in order to make more money off of it. At this point the artists are valuing the money over music, and they become nothing but businessmen. Selling out is the point where a band or artist starts to look at their music as a product to sell, not a form of art. With this said i really get angry when a small indie band starts to get a bigger fanbase and the original fans get annoyed because they arent in a little exclusive group anymore. So they make themselves feel better and say the band sold out because they became more successful... i think thats ridiculous. If you liked the band why shouldnt others like it too? And an artist changing their style isnt selling out either. Its the same as us developing a personality and opinons and sense of self as we grow, its an ongoing process and we cant be upset with a band or artist for doing the same ... even if their new style isnt ours.
