Fortunately in Spain we now have a socialist party in the power who has already passed in the Parliament a law to allow same-sex marriage with all the rights and benefits (and drawbacks) of different-sex marriages and the allowance of children's adoptions... it is a historic law, passed some weeks ago, which is gonna be implemented from January 2005 on... one of the few countries in Europe with such a progressive law... and fortunately too, my government wasnt intimidated by christians who complained really hard against such a law... fortunately the government thought of social and human rights and passed the law with the support of most of the political parties represented in my parliament (except the conservative party, of course...)

it gives the impression that he waited to win the elections to finally do what he really wants: destroy Iraquies no matter how much pain it costs ;)

I haven't seen that show (I dont even know it, i'm not from northamerica, i live in Spain and sometimes we don't get all the shows you guys get there)... at least, i agree with you a lil bit, not completely, on one point: "the sad reality of this world is that people do not care to co-operate and work together" it is true that co-operation and working together are not "fashionable" nowadays... the main idea is to destroy the person you have next to you, to step over him no matter how much harm you do to him/her, individualism and selfishness... but FORTUNATELY not everybody is in that way and we are many people who still believe in international peace, in anti-militarism, in co-operation, in understanding... and we are many people who are still working to get a better world, step by step, lil by lil? yes, but at least trying... and with some positive results (i am a member of some social organizations in Madrid who help people in need and i see improvements... lil by lil, yes, that's true... but at least improvements in people's lifes) I dont think i will ever change, i dont think i will ever give up trying to get a better world with more understanding and co-operation among us... no, i won't ever give up

I think they are keeping his agony so as to have time to prepare his transition... but, i don't know, i have the feeling that he's already dead but they won't say so until there is a agreement among the different parts in conflict...

in your own opinion, of course, because I don't agree with you on that: if working together is not always the best solution, in my opinion, then we are living in the "jungle" and whoever wants to do whatever he/she wants will be able to do it and OF COURSE I know the Spanish Civil War ended in a cruel and terrorific dictatorship... and how do you think that dictatorship ended? with cooperation and understanding and that "working together" that you seem not to like among citizens and political parties (and the b death of Franco) which took society and politicians to finally create a democratic system with the first democratic elections in Spain in a long time...

If i knew how to handle such a situation (fortunately I was not there), i would try to be a politician: I sorta answered my question (and yes, moonlight, i did answer my question with the example i stated) in my previous message: I had family and friends DEAD in that attack and although my first reaction would have been to kill them, i didnt take a gun and look for the terrorists to kill them, i didnt ask my government to start a war against those terrorists... reading a bit of history tells us that the international organizations that we have nowadays didnt always exist (that's why we have them, although Bush didnt even respect them) my grandpa lived during the Spanish civil war... do you know what he did? Instead of taking a gun and going to fight against people of the town nearby, he joined with many more and built up a political party to fight against the civil war and the dictatorship... and they succeeded somehow because they could avoid many many killings in the region where he was born just sitting people together and having them talk... if many more people during the Spanish civil war had done the same, many more deaths would've been avoided for sure... From him I learned my ideas... and that is exactly what i would've tried to do in that scenario you described (and that, again, I already answered with another example, i hope this new one makes it clear)... would i have been successful? I don't know and i guess we will never know... (and by the way, Matt, I'm starting to get a lil bit "tired" of your attitude towards me... it is the second time you are harsh to me and i'm starting to get a bit "sick" of that... if you have any problem with me or something related to me, i'd like u to tell me) (sorry the rest of the people for this last paragraph)
