  4. well, i guess that everybody can get a bit depressed looking around and seeing how the world is right now... and specially someone like Matt who really cares for what's going on around... and also, probably when the Audio of Being, which was the period in which MGB broke, he could've probably gone thru some hard and depressing moments (just guessing, of course)

  6. let them move in Canada... but don't let them take their gun culture with them...
  7. Federico García Lorca is simply awesome... this is one of my favorite poems ;) Romance Sonambulo Green, how I want you green. Green wind. Green branches. The ship out on the sea and the horse on the mountain. With the shade around her waist she dreams on her balcony, green flesh, her hair green, with eyes of cold silver. Green, how I want you green. Under the gypsy moon, all things are watching her and she cannot see them. Green, how I want you green. Big hoarfrost stars come with the fish of shadow that opens the road of dawn. The fig tree rubs its wind with the sandpaper of its branches, and the forest, cunning cat, bristles its brittle fibers. But who will come? And from where? She is still on her balcony green flesh, her hair green, dreaming in the bitter sea. --My friend, I want to trade my horse for her house, my saddle for her mirror, my knife for her blanket. My friend, I come bleeding from the gates of Cabra. --If it were possible, my boy, I'd help you fix that trade. But now I am not I, nor is my house now my house. --My friend, I want to die decently in my bed. Of iron, if that's possible, with blankets of fine chambray. Don't you see the wound I have from my chest up to my throat? --Your white shirt has grown thirsy dark brown roses. Your blood oozes and flees a round the corners of your sash. But now I am not I, nor is my house now my house. --Let me climb up, at least, up to the high balconies; Let me climb up! Let me, up to the green balconies. Railings of the moon through which the water rumbles. Now the two friends climb up, up to the high balconies. Leaving a trail of blood. Leaving a trail of teardrops. Tin bell vines were trembling on the roofs. A thousand crystal tambourines struck at the dawn light. Green, how I want you green, green wind, green branches. The two friends climbed up. The stiff wind left in their mouths, a strange taste of bile, of mint, and of basil My friend, where is she--tell me-- where is your bitter girl? How many times she waited for you! How many times would she wait for you, cool face, black hair, on this green balcony! Over the mouth of the cistern the gypsy girl was swinging, green flesh, her hair green, with eyes of cold silver. An icicle of moon holds her up above the water. The night became intimate like a little plaza. Drunken "Guardias Civiles" were pounding on the door. Green, how I want you green. Green wind. Green branches. The ship out on the sea. And the horse on the mountain.

  18. I don't know, I'm very illiterate on Macs... In Spain we hardly use any Mac... all are PCs with Windows and Bill Gates all around... I suppose you can... once you can connect to the Internet, I guess you can download some of those "shaddy-areas-programs" and find music ;-) good luck! ;)

  20. I love Oscar Wilde... There is a Spanish poet - Antonio Machado and Federico García Lorca - who are my most favorite poets though... If you can find some of their poems in English (if you can't read Spanish), read them... if you like Oscar Wilde, you will like these two Spanish poets for sure... I just love them... and they are sometimes the inspiration I need to write my own stuff ;)
  21. Interesting for you, Canadians: http://www.reuters.co.uk/printerFriendlyPo...&storyID=616225 Americans flock to Canada's immigration Web site Fri November 05, 2004 01:30 PM ET By David Ljunggren OTTAWA (Reuters) - The number of U.S. citizens visiting Canada's main immigration Web site has shot up six-fold as Americans flirt with the idea of abandoning their homeland after President George W. Bush's election win this week. "When we looked at the first day after the election, November 3, our Web site hit a new high, almost double the previous record high," immigration ministry spokeswoman Maria Iadinardi said on Friday. On an average day some 20,000 people in the United States log onto the Web site, www.cic.gc.ca -- a figure which rocketed to 115,016 on Wednesday. The number of U.S. visits settled down to 65,803 on Thursday, still well above the norm. Bush's victory sparked speculation that disconsolate Democrats and others might decide to start a new life in Canada, a land that tilts more to the left than the United States. Would-be immigrants to Canada can apply to become permanent resident, a process that often takes a year. The other main way to move north on a long-term basis is to find a job, which requires a work permit. But please spare the sob stories. Asked whether an applicant would be looked upon more sympathetically if they claimed to be a sad Democrat seeking to escape four more years of Bush, Iadinardi replied: "There would be no weight given to statements of feelings." Canada is one of the few major nations with an large-scale immigration policy. Ottawa is seeking to attract between 220,000 and 240,000 newcomers next year. "Let's face it, we have a population of a little over 32 million and we definitely need permanent residents to come to Canada," said Iadinardi. "If we could meet (the 2005) target and go above it, the more the merrier." But right now it is too early to say whether the increased interest will result in more applications. "There is no unusual activity occurring at our visa missions (in the United States). Having someone who intends to come to Canada is not the same as someone actually putting in an application," said Iadinardi. "We'll only find out whether there has been an increase in applications in six months." The waiting time to become a citizen is shorter for people married to Canadians, which prompted the birth of a satirical Web site called www.marryanamerican.ca. The idea of increased immigration by unhappy Americans is triggering some amusement in Canada. Commentator Thane Burnett of the Ottawa Sun newspaper wrote a tongue-in-cheek guide to would-be new citizens on Friday. "As Canadians, you'll have to learn to embrace and use all the products and culture of Americans, while bad-mouthing their way of life," he said. © Reuters 2004. All rights reserved. 22. yes, they finally announced his death... i wonder for how long he has been dead and they havent said so... i guess they were trying to delay the news just to "prepare" the new scenario in the Middle East... Looking at Spanish history, when the dictatorship Francisco Franco died, they did pretty much the same: they delayed the news of his death so as to prepare the new scenario which was being prepared in Spain: the transition from a dictatorship to democracy... in any case, i hope that at least we should recognize him peace labor and desire which took him to get the Nobel Prize for peace some years ago if only peace was the word heard in the Middle East...
  23. yeah, that's why i havent heard it... because i'm trying to find it in one of those "shadiest areas of the internet" ;-)
