How do you know this thread is the full extent of his anti-war activities?? Hashmeer: first, I don't vote in the USA... what does that matter? Only people who vote in the USA have the right to be for or against such a war? that sounds stupid, sorry to say so... second: this post is NOT my only "activity" against the illegal war in Iraq. I do not need to fly to Iraq to help people there, I'm doing that in Spain, with a social group I'm working with in which we try to do our best in order to make people aware of this illegal war so that it never happens again, to help Iraquis somehow sending them many kinds of help thridly: sorry for mispelling "Iraq" (Irak is in Spanish) fourth: remembering such an illegal war helps people not to forget that violence and economical interests are not what should rule the world finally, thanx Pavel, Ryan and the others ;)

That's one of relatively few songs for which all the covers sound better than the original. The Killers - Hot fuss (and I totally disagree with you: the original Depeche Mode's Enjoy the silence is MUCH better than any other cover done afterwards... no version can be better than the original enjoy the silence ;) ) -
The USA's illegal invasion in Iraq has been "celebrated" in the last days... two years of more freedom? two years of less terrorism? two years of more hunger among citizens? two years of more terrorist attacks in Iraq and in the world? two years of so many innocent Iraqui citizens dead? ... two years of attrocities two years of an illegal and economical invasion, two years of human shame and of human terror "congratulations" Mr. Bush... you have become one of the biggest international terrorists ever mod edit: Changed to Iraq

Best New British Bands
juanpe replied to places38's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
yeah, sorry, you are right... guess i was influenced by the fact that i was listening to the strokes while writing my post... in any case, the rest of the british bands are as good as some other ones from the States... i'm a bit sick of the idea that "good" music and good musicians just comes from the USA... it is simply a lie -
Best New British Bands
juanpe replied to places38's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
sorry to disagree but that's completely false... there are many many british bands which ARE actually very good... bands from all times (Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths...) and current bands like The Libertines, Muse, The Charlatans UK, Coldplay, The Cranberries, U2, The Dandy Warhols, Garbage, Interpol, New Order, P.J. Harvey, Radiohead, The Stone Roses, Placebo (do you need more bands?), etc. which are simply great... not all good music comes from the US... -
Musical Renaissance?
juanpe replied to no yu begin wher i end's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I think most of the music done nowadays are influenced by old music... nothing is new... it is just probably easier to find music in general and maybe good music too -
they sound pretty good live... it reminds me of gothic rock from the 80's and i like that music, my parents used to hear them pretty often and I like listening to them... another band that I just discovered who are also some sorta gothic techno is "Clan of Xymox", they are awesome
