i never said his life had no impact on his music. obviously it does, any creative person is going to express feelings/ideas/whatever through their art. what i said is that i don't care about his personal life. i like the music. i don't feel a need to know WHY his songs were written or what he was thinking or going through personally when he wrote them. i attribute songs to my OWN life. that's part of the enjoyment of listening to music for me, getting my own meaning from it. sure i watch shit like behind the music, on occasion. but i'm not interested in the man's relationship. sorry. i don't really think there are many things more personal and private than someone's relationship. i don't want to discuss my own relationships with total strangers, and i certainly don't want to discuss the relationship of a musician i will never meet with total strangers. what is all this talk about censoring? no one censored anything, no one is going to censor anything unless it gets out of hand. i didn't ask you to agree with my opinion, ok? i just said that i have a hard time understanding why people are so concerned about his relationship and suggested that they make a similar thread for themselves and see how they liked all their personal business displayed for the whole fucking board to chat about.

it seems like common sense to me. how would these people like it if a bunch of total fucking strangers were discussing something as personal as their RELATIONSHIP? i don't get the appeal. matt good is not your friend. you are not chums, you are not going to BE chums, because he is a musician, he is not your old pal from way back that you discuss with your drinking buddies at the fucking high school reunion he doesn't show up for. therefore, his personal life is none of your business. period. yes, i said chums.

hey guys, i have an idea! how about every time a board member breaks up with/divorces/kills their significant other we make a thread about it and then we can all drive it into the ground and re-hash it and fill it full of 'sympathy' and 'empathy' and 'understanding' and 'feeling' and make sure that the person(s) involved can read all of our opinions about their relationship. we can compare stories and tell each other how very sorry we are and chastise anyone that thinks the whole idea of the thread is stupid and pretend like we care except really we don't because we're only interested in 'famous' people, because it's not even about the music anymore, right? do you think that would be the same as discussing matt's personal life as though any of us have a place to? who's first? anyone?
