Since when did revolutionist and terrorist become synonymies? Perhaps violent methods arent always the way 2 go, but that doesnt mean their cause should be written off.

Why is it that some people are assuming Matt may be through with music. Where was this said, he may be pissed of at the moment, but i doubt he would give up music because of it...

I think to some extent its become trendy to critize American Foreign Policy when it comes to the middle east, and I by no means would want to see that out of fashion. But by the same token muslim leaders running around with nukes shouldn't simply be an oppurtunity to seek out flaws in the American establishment. Sure the US is ripe with nuclear weapons and sure they are hypocritical when it comes to disarmament; however muslim leaders continue to promote a sense of unity amoung their people while secretly also maintaining a hidden agenda abroad. Oppressive governments like those of Iran do not stand for their people and represent a huge discreprancy between the arab nationalism they preach and the foreign attitudes they foster. These governments should not be defended when it becomes convienant. In terms of Iran developing nuclear weapons the only way to discourage this activity is to make an example of oneself i.e. promoting disarmament indicriminately and following UN guidlines and resolutions. Taking a hardline with Iran is exactly the WRONG thing to do. Primarily because it is 3 times the size of Iraq, and their people just might be resentful towards the west for past political intervention. If the world thought Iraq was a humanitarian debacle, an attempted military campaign with Iran would prove many times worse. As a global community, lets try some of that love thy neighbour stuff and extend the olive branch to Iran so that we could work cohesively towards purging nukes from the entire world, and not just selective regions of it.

Seems as though Matt shut down his site due to the negative comments he was incountering.

Although Palestine is guilty of terrorist violence to further their goals, it should not be overlooked that in their desperation such means must have seemed like their only resort. Not to vindicate suicide bombings and whatnot, but Palestine has acted out of a discouraging situation where they are refugees in their own homeland. Certainly to understand the mentality of Palestinians we have to consider their lifestyle. Also, if we truly want to resolve this historical conflict than it is imperative that the principles of security in that region are recognized. Does it make sense to build a wall seperating two peoples that essentially inhabit the same land? The wall that hate built will only incite further violence as it is a metaphor for the division between the two peoples. Building a wall does not address the core issues surrounding the conflict. It does not address displaced Palestinians, and it does a poor job or addressing boundary issues. If Israel wants its borders secure and terrorism to stop then it should try to breach the gap that it seems to continually create. Until Israel faces the true nature of the Palestinian's troubles they will continue to endure violence: the fruits of their own faulted policies.
