  2. that's a fair opinion i guess, but i love his vocals. there's nothing REALLY amazing about them or anything, but they fit the style of the band nicely i find.
  3. They used to have two singers. One of them has left the band for reported "health reasons". He used to sing with The Screaming Trees and has gone back to Seattle. Homme is still with the band, rockin' harder than ever. ;)
  4. under the boardwalk - the drifters

  10. Did anyone happen to catch the QotSA show at the Queen E? They were so excellent live. I'd say they were even better tonight than they were last year when they played the Orpheum. The opening band though... what a fucking joke. (Though having the washboard player was pretty kickass.) Any other thoughts/comments?
  11. I think it would be interesting for him to compile a "Favorite Songs" album as opposed to "Greatest Hits". The latter would be so obvious, whereas the former would give some cool insight into what he's most proud of. The DVD would be friggin' awesome too. As for the new MG, I was a little disappointed with WLRRR. It's not that it's bad, I just never "crave" it like I do the other albums. However, I love "Agoraphobe," so hopefully his new line-up with Ryan and co will prove a little more interesting than WLRRR.
  12. Avalanche Vinyl Guitar pick ALTINLTS Black Market Surgery A bunch of autographs + 1 autograph addressed to me ;) 2 MG shirts The Avalanche promo poster 2 other posters A couple stickers A second copy of the Avalanche liner notes, signed... I think I've said most of it. Oh! I also took some pictures of him at an autograph signing.
  13. Agreed. But there are also some songs that are romantic in nature simply because of personal experiences associated with them. Pretty much all of Beautiful Midnight, as well as Change of Season, The Inescapable Us, Dancing Invisible remind me of certain moments with my ex. Also, Fearless, because one night we went for this drive and I just remember singing along to "This is the sound and how it feels to be dead," which probably seems counterintuitive to romance, but I just remember looking over at him and noticing the way he was watching me sing along under my breath... it was sweet.
  14. closer - nine inch nails
  15. Ya, Giant. My first concert I'd attended without parental units, back in eighth grade. I went to that show on a whim, based solely on Hello Time Bomb (because that's how you did things when you were 13), and I never looked back. Killer show, changed my musical life.
  16. I know that the Folk Fest will be amazing this summer. Hopefully Warped will be good too. And QotSA on Wednesday will hopefully be killer. They were amazing last year. I'm also gonna try to see Songs : Ohia next month, which would be a wicked show.
  17. there she goes again - velvet underground
  18. bob dylan - the times they are a'changin'
