  1. I agree, Primus effin' rocks. I've got most of their studio stuff and I've also seen Videoplasty, which my cousin lent to me. So cool. I haven't heard that new album, but thanks for the heads up. I will be sure to check it out.
  2. The two are so different, they are not easy to compare. Avalanche has a very complete feel to it, very wholesome, whereas WLRRR is very stripped down and basic. If you like classic rock, I'd suggest WLRRR, because it has a certain quality to it akin to classic rock. If you prefer a more modern, "polished" sound, then I'd go for Avalanche. Though I do love both, if you want straight up opinion, I'd say Avalanche. (That is, if you don't already own Beautiful Midnight and Underdogs.)
  3. bad medicine - bon jovi (that song will forever remind me of that hilarious scene in jay and silent bob...) "Dude, I think I just filled the cup..."
  4. Nine Inch Nails - Burn
  5. There's been talk of excitement in regards to shows coming to various towns, but is no one here from Van city pumped for Queens of the Stone Age? They're playing the Queen E in a couple months. I saw them last year at the Orpheum and they totally blew me away, so I'm very excited to see them again this year. ;) Any thoughts?
  6. Wonderstuff- Escape from Rubbish Island (Ok, so I cheated a little. I went into WinMX and typed in Escape and went with the first one I saw I never heard of. Now I'll download it. Hopefully it's not too crappy.)
  7. Alright I voted HOSAM but really it's a 3-way tie between HOSAM, WWWHR and Avalanche. Of all Matt's albums, this one's #3 for me. It's so...complete.
  8. The first time I heard the album, I was most struck by Poor Man's Grey, so I had to vote for that. But I also love It's Been A While, because I find I can almost completely relate to those lyrics. PS-I'm also very down with the Led Zep verse, pvnc.
  9. Hahaha whoa... ;) Dumb moment, eh? Silverchair
  10. portishead - it's a fire
  11. white light white heat - velvet underground
  12. soundgarden - fell on black days
  13. In the words of Jay, Invasion1 "is the mad notes!" Though that whole CD rocks my socks.
  14. I love them all, so that was tough, but I went with good ole' suburbia...
  15. blur - song 2 [or two]
  16. the strangest one of all - mgb
  17. mindless self indulgence - bed of roses
  18. bittersweet symphony - the verve
  19. Questions like this are so tough because it's so hard to discount an entire genre of music. I did vote country, though I now wish I'd said none of the above. Mainly because different people will place different bands into different categories. Some people view Green Day as poser punk, for example, and I enjoy Green Day. The whole idea of classifying bands into one precise genre has always seemed so impossibly subjective to me. I enjoy a wide variety of music. There is good music and bad music that comes of every genre. Though I can honestly say that there is not one song I've heard and liked that can be classed as classic opera. I'm sure it's beautiful to some, but I simply can't acquire a taste for it.
