Those Songs You Hate To Like
Gomo replied to sodamntired's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
...err, oh? I still don't understand the whole "getting pissed off about multiple threads" thing on message boards. I've been posting on message boards for 8 years and I've always felt that people get annoyed at the most arbitrary and unimportant stuff. 3 threads on something. OH MY GOD THE HORROR. I just don't get it. This is not an encyclopedia that has to be organized all nice and neatly. It's a message board! Who cares?? -
Those Songs You Hate To Like

I don't know if I hate the fact that I don't mind Kelly Clarkson. I don't know if I hate to like Matchbox Twenty either. -
I could have captured it easily had I been around ;)

All it takes is 45 seconds. 45 seconds out of 3 hours. Somebody must have it.

Music To Get Drunk Alone To
Gomo replied to Mouko's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I am a huge Yes fan because my brother and father pretty much raised me on it. But as opposed to getting drunk to Close to the Edge, my brother told me I need to smoke a big blunt, turn off all the lights, lay on the floor and just listen to close to the edge with my eyes closed and the world will just start making sense. Haha, I haven't done that yet, but maybe someday. I love Close to the Edge regardless. As for songs to get drunk to alone... I'd say the following albums would be good for that: Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker Matthew Good - Hospital Music Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies Radiohead - Kid A Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon Yes - Tales from Topographic Oceans I just realized this thread is from 2005. Kickass ;) -

Alice In Chains To Release New Album
Gomo replied to borntohula's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Zwan actaully wasn't that bad. They had some good stuff. But their existance really has cheapened the return of the Smashing Pumpkins. It's like Zwan 2, only the Smashing Pumpkins. And I am a big big SP fan. One of my top 3 favorite bands ever. But sometimes I just shake my head at how that situation developed. Plus Billy Corgan had to release that terrible solo album before he realized what he really needed to do. Jimmy Chamberlain's solo album was actually really awesome though. Ok back to Alice in Chains. I love Alice in Chains. I don't think tehre's anything wrong with keeping that title. If anything it means that people can still hear those songs played live...if nothing else as a tribute to Layne's legacy. I don't have a problem with that. If they go by another name they don't necessarily get to play Alice in Chains songs that people want to hear, right? -
Alice In Chains To Release New Album

I've been listening to Alice in Chains a lot more lately. Such a great band. Jar of Flies is one of my favorite albums. So sad Layne is gone. I mean, I'm not gonna say that this new album will automatically suck. But it's just...not the same. I dunno. -
I think he said he was going to get up to NYC, which would be fucking awesome.

I just got in line with everybody else after the Buffalo show. It was awesome. I wish I would have had my copy of Hospital Music with me for him to sign...but maybe I'll get to another show and have another chance for that before all is said and done now that he may be coming to the U.S. again!!! ;)

I'd be a much better opening act.

I am definitely missing a few of them. As for my favorites I'd say Euphony, The Ocean, Heather's Like Sunday, Bluebird, and You Are Here.

Bright End of Nowhere!!!! That's fuckin awesome! I hope someone got a video of that one.

Thank you Seanathon! Much appreciated my friend. Whoa wait what? Somebody called him fat? That's the stupidest fucking shit. Who buys a ticket to a show to haggle the performer. WHY.
