  1. What's even worse is when countries pledge money, having no intention to deliver, simply out of pressure; as soon as the public eye is turned, they cancel the cheques, as it were. After the Bam earthquake, 1 billion was pledged, but very little was delivered. The problem with this (aside from the obvious problem with empty promises for ostentation) is that some people look and say "wow, the government is giving a billion, what's my 5 dollars gonna do", and don't give, or give less; and then when countries fail to deliver on their pledges, rebuilding is left to the locals, who have no more media around to portray their plight.
  2. It sounds great, I love it. Matt and Ryan's voices go well together.
  3. "I'd do her " I hate when people say shit like that. Is that supposed to be a compliment? "I'd fuck you. Yes, me, I would grace you with my awesome fucking". No one gives a shit.
  4. I'm caught between my belief in the fundamental goodness of people, and the increasingly inescapable fact that the world is full of irresponsible, immature assholes and morons; self absorbed and inconsiderate. Sigh
  5. Isn't that how the US got Noriega to surrender when he took refuge in a church? By playing "these boots were made for walking" again and again until he couldn't take it? Or is that just a myth my parents told me as a kid so I wouldn't spend too long in the shower?
  6. Empty Road is possibly his finest song ever; if it's more like that, God bless him. Also, stuff like hopeless...that just rocks. I can't think of a Matt Good song I don't like...so whatever he does, I'm not worried, he's great at it. Also, rock is a fusion of rhythm and blues and country. Originally black artists did it, and it was called "race music" by redneck music execs. Then Elvis and Buddy Holly did it, and radio played it, and they couldn't call it race music any more, so they called it "rock and roll", which came from a "black" slang term for sex...kind of a hilarious fuck you to the music establishment. For more information, consult your local library.

  8. Yes, home by finger eleven--I mean, three days grace is great. Ps, does anyone notice how they sound EXACTLY LIKE FUCKING FINGER ELEVEN? Do i have to pick a song? a lot of it was shit. To preview my top ten list, go to any top 40 station, and write down the first 10 songs. And yes, the reason does suck. "...and be the one to catch you with my cliches". Stop changing your sound in an obvious attempt to sell albums. All the "be in hoobastank's new video!" hype before the release of the single...Christ. Just MAKE MUSIC, if it's good IT WILL SELL. God. Talking about the music industry makes me angry. I need to go somewhere where i can be unbothered by music--MuchMusic seems like a good choice.
  9. I'm surprised no one voted for It's Been a While...I voted for Empty Road, any incredible song on an amazing album.
  10. In Empty Road, I thought he was singing "When you were still too young to know the difference between the faith in your heart and the politics of the kingdom". Anyone else hear that?
