just so you all know, it was a joke letter not actually sent to anyone. as if the president would have a yahoo.com address..... i completely agree with guitarchick. matt's style has evolved on white light, just as it has on every album he's put out. every one of them is different, and people like them for different reasons. yes, his lyrics on this one arent as indepth or metaphoric as on other albums, but they are still incredible to me at least. i love white light and i think its one of his best works to date. i think that people are always going to compare whatever music he puts out to beautiful midnight, which was a masterpiece loved by pretty much every matt good fan. it must be hard to try and top an album like that, but i think white light comes pretty close for me. i think its great that he is singing about the issues that are happening in the world, because thats what matters most to him. if you dont agree with his point of view, you dont have to. go watch cnn and get the other side of the story. but that doesnt mean that his music isnt great. everyone has a right to express his opinion, and matt just expresses it through what he does best.

my favourite moment would have to be at the nov. 6th montreal show. me and my friend were right at the front (there were no barriers so we were leaning on the stage) and during the giant guitar solo, matt slid on his knees to the edge of the stage right in front of us. it was so crazy. he was within inches of my face. then he accidentally dropped his pick into my sweater....it was the best concert ever....i love it when he plays rat too...this tour was insane.

prime time deliverance would make a good music video, but i personally would choose running for home. i think that song is so beautiful and completely underrated.

i would definately vote for put out your lights to be the national anthem. thats one of my favourite matt good songs...north american for life would be good too. a little bitter though for a national anthem i would think.

he played that intro for both shows in ottawa, and the clarity wasnt bad at all. i love it when he does that sort of intro.....whether it accompanies 21st century living or not.

in last month's chart magazine, matt says that he wants to do a hotel room record in which he would travel to 12 different hotel rooms in 12 different countries and write and record a song in each city. that would be half the record and the other half would be recorded in jerusalem in 12 days. he did refer to steve earle though, saying that he would want him on the record so maybe thats what you're thinking about. he said he would call the record 12 cities/gates of jerusalem.
