i'm not sure how anyone can find fault in another person wanting to educate themselves.....if matt wants to spend his afternoon reading the news, then good for him. its no different than those of us who are in school. we spend our afternoons in class learning, or doing our homework. in my opinion its the same thing, yet no one finds fault in students for that...and the reason the web design keeps changing is because he wants it to be perfect. he has been unhappy with what it has looked like so far, so he keeps changing it for the better... and what is being refered to when Dookas says "The man is taking years off his life and is making himself a paranoid zealot for a cause that is constructed in his mind alone."? uh, i might be mistaken but i dont think he is imagining the war in iraq or any of the other issues that he discusses in his blog. if you think he's imagining it, then you don't agree with his point of view (which is your right), so go watch cnn and stop complaining. other people really enjoy his blog and appreciate the amount of time he puts into it.

to be honest i'm not sure what i'd do if matt stopped making music. i'd probably fall apart (temporarily). his music means so much to be i can't imagine him not releasing new stuff. i guess i would always have the old stuff to listen to, but it wouldnt be the same knowing there was nothing new coming. i dont like this thought at all...i don't think he's leaving music though. i think we can all anticipate a break of maybe even a few years, considering that he has been touring non-stop for the past 2 years and he has expressed the want to do some humanitarian work.

ya i was wondering if he would get dropped by the label too. i dont know who decides what songs are released as singles, but i dont think they're doing a very good job. to me, pretty much all the singles since beautiful midnight have not been representative of the albums. weapon is a great song and so is alert status red, but it seems like whenever they release the second single, they pick one that has no mass appeal whatsoever, so radio stations and muchmusic dont want to play it. the video for its been a while since i was your man is beautiful, but muchmusic will never play it. i have been hearing it on the radio here though which is encouraging. but as for in love with a bad idea, i havent heard it on the radio at all, and matt hasnt said anything about making a video for it. i hope he does though...i love that song.

i think dusk is defintaly worth buying. i really like that song. its not super long, and there arent many lyrics to it, but its very powerful.
