My top-four movies of all time were all filmed in the 1990s (The Matrix, Gattaca, 12 Monkeys and The Game), so this list isn't as clear-cut for me as it could be. That said, I will go with (in no particular order): The Dark Knight Friday Night Lights (although the TV series was surprisingly even better, the movie is still awesome) Gladiator The Hurt Locker Inception LOTR Trilogy The Wrestler Memento The Prestige The Ring (every top-ten should have one scary movie in it, right?)

Have to say I was disappointed as well. I watched it with sky-high expectations and it fell well short. It was still good, but definitely more mediocre than great, in my opinion.

Truly amazing movie...Christopher Nolan is fantastic as a director, and the acting across the board was suberp. Joseph Gordon-Levitt surprised me the most with his acting chops, as we all know Leonardo is awesome when he gets immersed in a project. As for the ending, I love how Nolan leaves it up for interpretation. My view is that the tack only wobbled to give it the "potential" of not being a dream, but I tend to think he's still stuck in la-la land. I've watched it 3 times already and plan on showing it to my folks (who are visiting for xmas) this holiday season. Highly recommended movie!

My wife made me watch Bridesmaids tonight. A few laughs in there, but a pretty terrible movie overall. Not recommended...

AllThatMakesUsHuman, you and I have pretty similar views on this album, and I too think this album is a complete masterpiece (it would win the "if you only had one album to take with you on a deserted island, what would it be?" question for me. I've seen a majority of the bands that people have posted on here (Pearl Jam, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Queensryche, Satriani) and all of them were great shows. Satriani/Steve Vai/Eric Johnson (G3 show) was perhaps more memorable than Satriani's solo tour that I saw. That said, the most memorable/epic show that I ever saw was... Vertical Horizon. They are far from being one of my favorite bands (I like them, but don't love them). However, what made the show AMAZING was the intimate setting and the acoustics of the room. There may have been only 300 people at the show (this was before they were all of the radio waves in 1999), and we were literally at arms length from them. There were a couple of songs that they played that just blew my mind (they sound better live than they do in studio - anyone that owns "Live Stages" will know what I mean), and that concert remains my favorite to date. I personally think the music gets distorted too much at arenas (amps turned up way too loud), so I always prefer shows at smaller clubs. Maybe that's just me...

It would be awesome if he would take some of the best tracks from his acoustic tour and makes a live acoustic album from it (before the next material is released). We already have "Live At Massey Hall", why not "Live Acoustic Gems"?

Just saw Source Code last weekend. I thought it was very original, but I didn't really like the ending. Still worth the watch, however...

I can't wait to see the acoustic show! I voted for that one - I love the full band experience, but sometimes the voice gets a little drowned out by the amps. Acoustic shows offer a more intimate setting - and this is a show I will probably remember for life.

I've been listening to a lot of 30 Seconds to Mars. "This Is War" is really a quality album (as are their previous albums).

Just noticed that Matthew is coming to NYC on March 7th after all. He will now be playing at the Mercury Lounge, and tix go on sale 12/16 at noon. I can't wait!

My favorite bands in the 90s were Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Dream Theater and OLP, probably in that order. I didn't even hear of MGB until Beautiful Midnight (I don't think many Americans did), so I had to "catch" back up with his older material.

It was listed for March 7th, but now is off his website. I'm really hoping he comes back to NYC...

I'm new to this forum, and I was wondering if this album is ever listed in the Downloads section? I heard "The Ocean" a few days ago and absolutely love that song...

All of his songs are underrated from the perspective of mass appeal (he receives very little airplay in the U.S. despite his brilliant music). Does anyone know why the Bowery Ballroom (in NYC) show has been taken off his webpage? I keep checking every day to see when tickets would be made available, but now it looks like the show might not happen? I thought this would've been the perfect venue to introduce some friends to my favorite musical artist...thanks in advance for any info that anyone can provide.
