It's been a long time since I've posted on this forum, and also a long time since I've listened to Matthew Good (Chaotic Neutral was the last album I bought). I recently decided to check out what he's been up to lately and discovered "Zero Hours", oh boy, I wish I hadn't. This is not the same guy I used to be obsessed with and constantly analyze the lyrics/songs he created. I don't know if he decided to change his sound out of "evolution" or to sell out, either way it's terrible.

I agree with most of your post. I really hope this grows on me because quite frankly, I'm not feeling this one. Wow it's been a while lol

Happy holidays! Yeah I thought that was a cool card, the pic of Matt reminds me of the front cover for the film "Lost In Translation" for some reason lol.

I understand where you're coming from, I'm a Pisces born March 15th 1991, I think all Water signs can connect to Matthew's music at an emotional level.

In the end, I think Matt will remain elusive of popular acclaim, so "national treasure" would be it.

Least Favorite Matthew Good Song

LOL hilarious -
I'm pretty sure Matt has reached the level of creative success of those artists you mentioned. But that depends on what defines "success" for an individual artist. In Matt's case, I think he's happy with a small but loyal fanbase that actually understands his music, rather than millions of fans who don't get it at all.

Weird, I didn't see that you posted the message, so that's why I thought I'd post it. It's all good though.

Why was my post edited, then reposted by Crusader himself?

It's MG afterall, so I can't complain when it comes to his music, be it Rock, Acoustic, Piano, etc. Matt said it wouldn't be long until he could make another album that is commercially viable, which we all know Lights of Endangered Species was not. Maybe that's why I enjoyed LOES so much, it wasn't aiming at the typical MG fanbase, I found it to be a leap into the dark (which at times can be dangerous) but the results were amazing nonetheless. I hope this new album will at least have the same grandiose style as Avalanche did. I can only speculate.

Set Me On Fire Weapon While We Were Hunting Rabbits Avalanche The Rat Who Would Be King It's pretty much tied between these songs, hard to choose

Another Rock Record? well I'm glad MG is making new music, but I really loved the piano sounds on Lights of Endangered Species and I was expecting another piano based album. He mentioned OK Computer, maybe an Experimental Rock Record? not like WLRRR style but more bizarre like Radiohead, that would be interesting for Matt. Can't wait

"Havn't really seen a topic about Matthew Good collectors so I decided to start one" The main reason you don't see a topic like this is because the majority of MG fans don't like to show off or gloat about their collection, and of course you also have the childish "hahaha I have more stuff than you do!" bullshit on most collection topics. Btw how much you want for those demo tapes? I'll put down $400

At least you have the opportunity to actually go out to a concert and yell out if you want, I have never been to a concert in my life. Anxiety Disorder is a bitch

A Theory : A Short Time On Earth About Geoff?
AllThatMakesUsHuman replied to Outtahere's topic in Matthew Good
The song was not about Geoff. The concept behind A Short Time On Earth, like the majority of the songs on Lights of Endangered Species, is mostly about a reflection into the future, what happens once humans are gone, etc. We "Humans" are the Endangered Species so to speak The New Colossus Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she with silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” ― Emma Lazarus -
How Much Does Lo-Fi B-Sides Go For Now That In A Coma Is Out?
AllThatMakesUsHuman replied to Tywin's topic in Matthew Good
The Lo-Fi B-Sides EP was going for about $800 on ebay the last time I checked. However considering the "In a Coma" set, currently the EP is probably worth very little, it has a sense of personal value for many MG fans despite it being added to "In a Coma" already. Both Lo-Fi B-Sides and Loser Anthems were Limited Edition, and it was very generous of Matt to add those rarities on the "In a Coma" set for us as he intended. -
The video was awesome! I think they did a good job.

I'm almost certain that it was Dave who wrote the riff.

The band is GONE, it's no more. You guys need to accept that fact. I think Matthew is better off being his own person/artist rather than being some media monkey writing mediocre pop records again for the masses. I love his solo work, I know many people that do, but they always lean toward MGB rather than the man himself which is such a shame. I want all MG(B) fans out there to ask themselves this: Do I really want Matt to be a part of a band again? and if so Will it be as good as it was before? People tend to get caught up in their own nostalgia and memories that it clouds their judgement of how bad/good the music really was. MGB was a good band, but that time is gone now. Matthew Good has released 5 amazing solo records, we should be grateful for the fact that he even decided to carry on making music after all that stress the band and record company was putting him under. I hope my opinion wasn't too harsh, you guys are probably going to give me the boot now for not being a part of the majority here who love MGB rather than MG.

Near Fantastica 5. 21st Century Living 6. In a World Called Catastrophe 7. Song for the Girl 8. Bright End of Nowhere 9. Double Life 10. A Long Way Down 11. House of Smoke & Mirrors 12. Tour Poll: Solo Acoustic Vs Full Band
AllThatMakesUsHuman replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Matthew Good
When it comes to what I prefer as a whole I'd say both full band and solo acoustic, but full band gets the vote.
