  1. is the guy who started this thread the (ex?)bassist of a band from burlington a few years ago?
  2. best pink floyd song: Pigs (three different ones) best pink floyd album: the wall
  3. kid a i listened to it for a month, didn't listen for a year, pulled it out a month ago and it ocurred to me that this was an incredible album.
  4. i can't help but notice as i read a lot of these that a fair amount of people here (to me) seem to have only known about matt since he became a solo artist, which leads me to wonder what it was that helped you find out about him. his blog? the songs? i don't know but i have a feeling there are a whole lot more americans who know about matthew good than americans who knew about mgb.... so i guess really i'm just asking everybody when and how they found out about him or mgb. for me it was 1998 watching the everything is automatic video on much in ontario. you?
  5. i don't know guys, there ARE some great moments on beautiful night... it's definitely a 4 star album... it's missing whatever ingredient it was that made aob the best mgb album ever.... certainly captured mgb at their happiest time tho, to my knowledge at least.
  6. i'm sure it's been asked already but when does the package come out?
  7. ovation celebrity, looking for a really nice epiphone one day... or a black on black tele
  8. other than the 1990s anthematic punch of "fuck off fuck off fuck off..." rico lacks a bit
  9. july 6th 2001 - mgb @ kingswood theatre september 24th 2002- MG @ sheridan college april 11th 2003- MG @ kool haus june 15th 2004- MG @ element september 11th 2004- MG @ kingswood theatre october 23rd 2004- MG @ kool haus
  10. matthew good band sold more copies of beautiful midnight than christina aguilera at one point.. around 2000, i read that at sam the record man in toronto.. basically mgb was the biggest band in Canada in 2000, then they did very little press for the audio of being because of all the fighting so aob didn't do so well and the band broke up later. Matt went solo and was really successful with avalanche but wlrrr didn't seem to get a lot of promotion, although i think it's his best album... matt's definitely not as big as he once was, but he's at his best probably.
  11. when i saw mgb at kingswood theatre they opened with giant.. that was very memorable probably because it was the first time i had ever seen them. in september 2002 i went to a sheridan college performance, one of matt's first solo shows, he opened with generation x-wing... great again
  12. i dig sum and blink... worst performance i've ever seen was actually at a matt good show... kingswood theatre september 11th 2004.... basically the whole lineup was awful except matt who was on his game as usual... but yea some really terrible bands played at that show... bands called m-way, frank and dank
  13. get white light, it's more or less perfect for what it was meant to be... but avalanche is still a good album... here's my order of albums from best to least best 1) white light/aob 2) loser anthems 3) beautiful midnight 4) avalanche 5) underdogs 6) lo-fi 7) raygun 8) LOTGA
  14. here's my picks in no order: TOP THREE: Bob Dylan Roger Waters Niel Young HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Thom Yorke/Radiohead Alanis Morrisette Matt Good Elliot Smith Bright Eyes
  15. if i had a choice between ryan and matt, or an mgb reunion.. i would definitely pick the first choice. mgb had no relationship outside of work. a pretty decent new lineup would be: Matt: guitar/vocals Ryan: guitar/vocals Pat: drums Rich: bass Pat played drums on I/O so it's kind of like a blend of both bands into one... still it wouldn't be the same without christian.. he's fantastic
  16. i happen to love umbrellaless. It's probably my favourite pre mgb song

not asking for much but could someone who's got a lot of these pass on like 25 for me.. i really want to hear these songs. i appreciate it
  19. this might be really unhealthy, but i've agreed with everything i've read by matt whether it be about politics, animal rights, or hooligans at his shows.
  20. why did it make you feel ill to see mgb have some success?
  21. no order - joyful rebellion - i/o - the hidden cameras- missisauga goddam - WLRRR - a crow left ... - The junction- and with this comes tomorrow - sonic nurse - recover- this may be the year i disappear - logic will break your heart - from a basement on a hill
  22. k before i start, no one get me wrong, matt is my favourite artist by far but i mean... any logical person knows that no human being is perfect. And so we start the toipic of his worst song. I personally think "every name is my name" is the worst song matt has ever put his name on... i think after that song on ghetto astronauts, mgb and then mg go to about as flawless as possible.
  23. blueskies
  24. get in the car and just start driving, fuck'm if they can't take a joke right?
  25. ok well the sadness you get from being drunk isn't depression as i mother earth says, "wine and a mellow head." Matt had a stalker around 2000, that would get anyone a bit ancy obviously... he had a ton of anxiety attacks between 2000-2002, puking up blood before shows and fainting. I think matt has definitely had bouts with depression but he's certainly a much happier guy now, he's got a wife who he clearly loves a lot so there's something that should help out. He just gets upset when he's faced with a load of ignorance on his site.
