  1. oh it is kind of funny dont worry ;) But seriously negotiating with the USA on any sort of issue is pointless. They dont want our medicine so we keep it, then they run out of flu vaccine and come crying to us. Its the same with the lumber, if they dont need it fine they can go without it, but i'm pretty damn sure it would take but a couple of years before they come begging for it again. Once they burn down all their forrests to build wepons research bases or sell it all off to China so they can afford the StarWars satelites.
  2. Amarican history X is a great movie, one of my all time favorites as well. If i remember correctly the "kirby" scene is from a distance and nothing graphic is shown, turning away and imagining it is probably putting worse images in your head than watching. No way i can pick one favorite movie though as i really like a lot of movies
  3. i was just checking out ebay, the black version is not all that expensive(at the moment) if you really want to get one.
  4. I also own white, i saw a black on in a used record store the other day though. Well the front leaflet was missing but the back was black. Didn't the black version come with the lyrics?
  5. He just a few minutes ago played a free performance in the "Student life centre" here at school. It was really good, although the equipement setup was terrible. I've never really been that interested in his music as its not something that generally get a lot of air time but i was impressed with it, I may have to go get his CD(s).
  6. Where was the venue? On the campus? I know the campus bar here at waterloo is a pretty nice venue for concerts, i would have thought brock was the same. He played arizona's last year but it was not students only.
  7. Well i wish him all the best in the afterlife. I greatly hope that chaos does not insue as they strugle to find someone to takeover leadership.
  8. I can't actually think of a vampire movie i enjoyed a lot. I guess Blade is the best in terms of action apeal and what not but as for actual story i have no idea.
  9. Its a great song, i dont currently have it on my computer though, need to work up some NF$ to buy it from the download section. Of course a mp3 is little substitution for how great it is live.
  10. Starship troopers(my god i hate it sooo much) White chicks (never seen it but i throw something at the tv whenever i see the adds) Well i could make a list of pages and pages but those two are fresh in my mind for now. The Core belongs up there too but it is fun to make fun of
  11. I dont usually cry in movies, the only movie i can think of i can't for the life of me remmeber the name. Now its going to drive me nuts trying to think of the name. Holocaust film, not shindlers list. The plot escapes me at the moment as well. A boy and his family are captured and put in a labour camp, the father gets shot in the end.
  12. So many of tehm are moving. But i think i find flight recorder from viking, apparitions, and strange days the most. I just go into a totally different world when i hear them.
  13. 1) While We Were Hunting Rabbits 2) Prime Time Deliverance
  14. Most of the manifestos are on this site, just click the link on the right hand side on the main page that says manifestos.
  15. Thats similar to the show in hamilton, we also go the flash card presentation between versus in north amarican for life. Its too bad i didn't have time to hang around in hamilton and see if i could meet matt. I had to get going as i had to drive the group i was with home. And i dont think there was a guy i Hamilton that didn't just stare at auf der maur, especially when she asked if any guys were horses as she loves riding horses, ;) Oh and did Matt do anything special to end off the tour?
  16. I also loved the rat who would be king live. just awsome. As for a track list if i were making a live CD, there is no way after only seeing him live once that i could narrow it down to just 10 songs. How bout a giant cd set of every live song he has ever done ;)
  17. playlists as in media player playlist or are you refering to the concert set lists? I wouldn't mind seeing a place where all the setlists are in one place to cut back on the many posts about them. But being at the end of the tour i can't see there being a large demand until the next tour except for a "which was better" talk.
  18. Kick ass set list. But i dont think thats any more than in hamilton. We got x-rated and buffalo seven instead of fantastica and under the influence, we in hamilton also got cant get shot in the back to end off the encore.
  19. Those lasers are very cool, but are not any where close to small enough to be put in orbit, a 747 is a very big plane. If the bomb is in range of the plane it is pretty much too late. The laser works well destroying howitzer shells on a known tragectory but has to track it for several seconds before it is destroyed as even being that large it does not have much power in it. A nuke is different than a howitzer, it will not just detonate harmlessly in the air. A nuke is very hard to set off prematurely, it is easy to disable it but then you have a load of radioactive rock slamming into the ground. But i gues that is better than the alternative. The only use a laser would be is for it to be high in orbit where it can disable the main ICBM and not the bomb causeing it to go off course and burn up in the atmosphere. We are centuries away from making a wepon that can actaully disintigrate the bombs which would be the best way to deal with them. As neet as the 747 version is, it is useless against nuclear arms as the most efficient way to destroy them is to take down the missle before it reaches its apex and releases its payload, that is not possible from a plane as there would be no line of site due to the round earth. Unless of course the plane is above the lauch site, but in that case the site could just be bombed by a much faster plane. Or you have hundrds of planes in the air all over the wolrd every hour of every day of the week.
  20. I just got back, really awsome show. My first and i loved it so much. All i can say is WOW. I especially loved when matt stopped to have a drink while the audience sang the chorus during hello time bomb ;)
  21. The point of the curent deffence system is not to put nukes in orbit. The whole idea is for them to use smaller interseptor missles or lasers (hense star wars project) to shoot down nukes from orbit where they will do no harm when they are destroyed. This is a good idea in principal but it is not possible for them to work. About 3% of the time you will actially intercept an ICBM. The current thinking of installing missle defence platforms on the ground is even more useless. Sure 25% of the time they can hit a small battelfield missle or plane but it is absolutely immpossible for them to hit a nuclear wepon. An ICBM carries up to 7 or so bombs which can each target an idevidual city, travels most of the way in orbit and moves about 3 times as fast on approach as the best interceptor missles, a missle defence based on eath will never ever work. The only means i can see of downing a missle is by use of a powerful laser or particle beam which travels at the speed of light, the most powerful of which fall far short of the required punch and take up the size of a large house. Not something you can put in space where it would do any good as a laser cant shoot through clouds. The whole thing is fundamentally obsurd from a political and scientific stand point. It is just to give an added false security blanket so that at some point in the future they can actually put the big guns in orbit and give the president a big red button that says "end the world with no chance of stopping it". Just like lisa simpson and the rock that keeps tigers away. If they build these defences and never get nuked, well i guess it worked so why not spend more money to put orbiting platforms of death up there because they would be even better. The whole idea is misguided, if the USA ever gets attacked with a nuclear bomb it will be in a suitcase in a subway. The only countries that have ICBM's are the USA, Russia, and china is rumered to have them. Russia's dont work and noone knows if China's exist in any numbers (although i'm sure they do). Canada has no business getting involed with this, but in the end as long as we dont have to pay a dime for it and backout the second wepons are being put in spce it is not a terribel thing. If we are involed we have a say in teh use of such wepons, if we are not we cant control a thing. sorry for the rant ;)
  22. We'll i'm not sure if you did the tickling but if i did it i'm sure i would be shot. As everyone knows (and the daily show so amuzingly points out) a man touching another man is not acceptable in the USA ;)
  23. Well being canadian i had no say in the election. I dont care for Mr bush, i dont agree with the right wing mindset and extreme religious beliefs urk me, I am a very far leaning leftist thinker. But that is my oppinion and everyone is entitled to thiers. The american people proved that they believe Bush is the right man for the job and i respect that. Just because i dont like the man or agree with him does not mean noone does, there is a strong following of people that agree 100% with his views and that is their right. Bush is a brilliant man there is no denying it. He is simply very skewed one way in his mindset leaving little room to simply tolerate him, most people adore him for his conviction, or hate him for it. There seems to be no grey area in the oppinion of the man and i think that is why his election spurs such a heated debate. But the simple fact is, more like him than dislike him and that is what democracy is. Everyone has to learn to deal with it or troubles may be afoot.
  24. Good good, i'm not sure i'll be able to check here on the day of though, i have to get back to my house from here at school get ready and whatnot then leave pretty much right away. But i'll try to remmeber to check if i have time.
  25. Its a free world. I'd be interested to read it and noone here will hold it against you. I find religion facinating mostly because i dont believe in it and i wonder why it has such a strong hold on some peoples lives. (i.e. the byron lovers, and aparantly also dave, jamie, etc. at other schools doing the same thing)
