  3. Ha, nah... Headstones get the nod because I talked to Hugh before one of their last concerts and he dedicated their rock version of "Blonde and Blue" to me. I miss the Headstones.
  4. That's easy... just buy the Australian Hello Time Bomb single. It's got Enjoy the Silence and Fated, but not Born To Kill. If you can't find it at your local record store... ummm... go to Australia.
  5. Part of me wants to say Wil, but he's only got one major album. So it's a toss-up between Headstones and Metallica. Coin toss... And the Headstones are my second favourite band.
  6. LotGA: Omissions of the Omen Raygun: Raygun Underdogs: Middle Class Gangsters BM: Suburbia Loser Anthems: Fine Art of Falling Apart AoB: Tripoli Avalanche: Near Fantastica WLRRR: North American For Life Dang that was hard.
  7. AoB. Any album that can help me with a geography exam gets bouns points.
  8. Didn't Lucas change some of the actors and lines in the original movies for the trilogy so there was no conflict with Episodes 1-3? And besides, screw Star Wars. Long live Captain Kirk!

I really liked it, mainly because I was expecting it to be a lot like Crouching Tiger and had to be dragged to the theatre. I wound up being pleasently surprised that it didn't suck.
  10. Saw them live a couple weeks ago and they've gotten a *lot* harder sound compared to All Killer No Filler. Very much like The Hell Song and A.N.I.C. I'm definitely looking forward to the new album.
  11. I've always gotten hooked on his albums right away. I bought AoB, Avalanche, and WLR&RR all on their first day of release and listened to them steady for at least two weeks. Especially this summer with WLR&RR. My routine was: Wake up to the cd, drive to work with the cd playing, then listen to the cd on a continous loop for my entire shift, anywhere from 5-10 hours.
  12. I'm crossing my fingers that I can get a ride to and from Ottawa. Hopefully my bro will drive me. Stupid going to school 3 hours away from home. Although I did get to see the 2 Matt shows in Ottawa in June... and got Rich's setlist from the second night ;)
  13. Daily Show, Nip/Tuck, CSI (original), Harvey Birdman, Family Guy, 6 Feet Under, and wrestling.
  14. I'm not ashamed to say that movie made me cry. I think it's so powerful because everyone really cared about it. For starters, Roman Polanski was the director. And Brody *REALLY* took the part to heart. Some of the info found at imdb: Adrien Brody lost 14 Kilograms for the role of Wladyslaw Szpilman by eating a daily diet of two boiled eggs and green tea for breakfast, a little chicken for lunch, and a small piece of fish or chicken with steamed vegetables for dinner, over a six week period. Initially his weight was 73 Kilograms. During the shooting of the movie, while scouting locations in Krakow, Roman Polanski met a man who had helped Polanski's family survive the war. In order to connect with the feeling of loss required to play the role, Adrian Brody got rid of his apartment, sold his car, and didn't watch television. The scene in which Wladyslaw Szpilman is saved from going to the concentration camps and is told "Don't run!" is inspired by a similar event in director Roman Polanski's life. Proceeds from the Amsterdam, Netherlands premiere were donated to the Anne Frank House. And although it wasn't listed on imdb, I believe that Brody did in fact learn most of the songs, but when you see just the hands (normally during the harder songs) it's a professional pianist. A good buy to go along with the movie is a cd I found at Wal-Mart: "Music Inspired By The Pianist". It's all original recordings of Wladyslaw Szpilman. Simply beautiful.
  15. Must concur with the awesomeness of Shawshank. Ever since I saw that movie, I have developed a habit of looking at what shoes people wear.
  16. "Empty Road" is pretty easy to pick up. "Omissions of the Omen" and "I The Throw Away" are fun and quick to learn too.
