  1. Do you mean stupid movies that I consider good? I have a lot of them. I love stupid movies. ;) Street Fighter (so awesome it's good!) "Quick! Change the channel!" Tank Girl Bill & Ted's (either one, they both rock) Cabin Boy Run Ronnie Run Dude Where's My Car? (so seriously undertated) The Pest Dumb & Dumber Dirty Work so many more... I can't wait until I finally see Harold & Kumar go to White Castle, it looks hilarious.
  2. Possibly, but I don't think because of a lack of quality. It looks hilarious. I've not heard anything but good reviews and I can't wait to see it.
  3. I liked the second one the best as well. I mean it had everything, the future, alternate timelines, back to the past, everything. And I like the first one because it's just classic. The third one, while still good, is easily my least favourite. It kind of broke away from the format of the other two because it was almost entirely in the old west and didn't deal with as much time travel. But it was still awesome. ;)
  4. A well written movie but I don't know how much replay value it would have. I think it might be boring the second time around. I mean it would be boring, it was meant to be boring, it was written to be boring, that is why it was so good, it made the audience feel the same way as the characters, but I don't know if I could sit through it again. But I eagerly await what ever Sophia Coppola come up with next.
  5. Amazing movie. I love it.
  6. I'm seeing Sky Captain tomorrow. I can't wait! I love the retro serial look. I thought that was one of the coolest things from Star Wars episode 2 as well. As a side note I also love superhero movies. I think they should make a Captain America movie. Before I could never think of how they could do it and not make it look cheezy but now I know. They need to leave it set during WWII (when he was created) and not freeze him and bring him to the present like they are oh so fond of doing, then the movie needs to look like a cross between Sky Captain and Pearl Harbour. Now that would be an amazing movie. ;) P.S. I thought the storyline for PH (the whole romance angle) was bad, but the cinematography was breath taking.
  7. Hmm... some of these might actually of been 2004, if so I appologize. Matthew Good - Avalanche The Music - The Music The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium Billy Talent - Billy Talent Sam Roberts - We Were Born in a Flame Jane's Addiciton - Strays That is it off the top of my head.... last year was a pretty good one for music IMO.
  8. The new Matt Good album was the newest one I've bought. Before that was The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium. Which is quite possibly the greatest thing ever recorded. EVER!
  9. I voted Nirvana, but I love all of those bands. I miss grunge, I wish bands were still making it.
  10. MGB is probably my all time favourite band. I honestly believe that each album they put out was leaps and bounds better than the one before it (which were still amazing in their own right). But to be totally honest each album also took me a while to warm up to. I'd have to force myself to listen to each album at least 3 times and let them sink in before they grew on me, but then I wouldn't be able to turn them off! ;) I don't think AOB left my discman for six months once I got into it. But I always thought it was weird that I liked the music so much but never fell instantly in love with the new material when it was released. Does anyone else experience this?
  11. Other than the fact it would be in a jewel case instead of a cardboard one. ;) I was just wondering because I remember being kind of surprised when I bought the digipack version and finding out it didn't have a CD booklet. So I was wondering if the jewel cased version came with a CD booklet or if it was just one sheet with the artwork on one side and the liner notes on the other. I think I'd be pretty upset if the standard edition actually came with more info than the limited edition.
  12. While I'm definately not holding my breath for the accoustic EP, I still think it is in the realm of possibility if Matt is still interested in it. It took Matt, what over a year to release Loser Anthems? Or maybe it just seemed that long. Actually it seemed longer. ;) I remember the mp3 for Flashdance II had been taken off of the site by the time I heard about it, so I downloaded it off of Napster(!) and it still seemed like I had it on my computer for forever before the EP was released. Well, we can always hope at least.
  13. First time I heard Everything Is Automatic I was hooked. I didn't buy Underdogs until shortly before Beautiful Midnight came out though. Then I bought BM when it came out and quickly bought Last of the Ghetto Astronauts and Raygun (at the same time). I've since bought each album as they've come out within a week of them being released. I just wished I'd become a fan a little sooner. I could have gotten Lo-fi B-sides. Curses! /shakes fist in anger
  14. I voted yes, but really I would only want it if Dave got writing input. My understanding at least was that for MGB, it was Matt's vision but the whole band wrote the songs while for MG Matt writes everything and the band just plays what they are told to play (I could be wrong though, I haven't checked the liner notes to see if anyone but Matt gets credit), Regardless though I think the music really lost something when Dave and Ian left.
  15. PTD is an incredible song. I love it. TRWWBK is also an amazing song but I bet it would icredibly difficult to play live (or at least to sing live).
  16. Each new MGB album topped the one before it. I think AOB was MGB's Darkside of the Moon but that is a comparison a lot of others don't get when I tell them. I was so sad when I heard the band was breaking up before the album was released, and then elated when they stayed together and then crushed when they finally did break up shortly after the album release.
  17. Out of that list, Strange Days, with Apperitions a close second. Out of everything he's done... Well I actually couldn't choose. ;)
  18. Omissions is way better than Hopeless. Actually WLR&RR seriously makes me question whether I should ever by anything new by MG again. ;) MGB was so much better then the solo stuff and each album got progressively better and better until their demise in my opinion.
  19. "Rabbit In Your Headlights" by UNKLE is AWESOME I also like: "Do The Evolution" by Pearl Jam "All Is Full Of Love" by Bjork "Points Of Authority" by Linkin Park
  20. I was doing a search for MG info and I found an old news posting made by Matt himself saying he hoped to put out an accoustic EP. It was posted late last year. Has anyone heard of this, or heard any more news on it?
  21. 1) Rat Who Would Be King 2) Invasion 1 3) Sort of a Protest Song 4) Tripoli 5) Antipop 6) Running For Home
  22. The poll on Born To Kill got me wondering about other MG songs that have been available in different places and I was wondering if you guys could help me and let me know if they are the same or different. Is there any difference between the songs that appear on both LOTGA and Raygun? Is there any difference between Flashdance II on Loser Anthems and the version released online previously? And finally is there any difference between Fated off of Lo-Fi B-Sides and the version on Much @ Edgefest '99? Thanks in advance.
  23. I can't believe he played Orangeville! I grew up there. I moved out to Oakville to go to school (I caught his Sheridan College show) and now that I'm gone he plays my home town. ;)
  24. Me too, but I'm dying to hear the other one. Anyone have a copy of Lo-Fi B-sides for sale? ;)
