History Teacher (merged)
Devil On Rollerskates replied to Devil On Rollerskates's topic in Matthew Good
Before You Go and Message to God are there. The rest aren't available. -
I'm an underdog.

If there's anyone who wants the History Teacher demos, report to the Matthew Good Upload Thread in the NF Lounge before the yousendit links expire. If you have too few posts to see the NF Lounge, hurry up and get your post count up to 60. Based on what I've seen in the MG Elimination threads, not enough people have these demos. Thank you for your attention, and enjoy the demos. I posted this in here because I figure more people would see it.

This is something that MG has said before I believe. There was a page about Matt Good's early history but I can't find it now. I found it. Matthew Good --> History Teacher
-
That's fantastic. Very moving.
-
That's awesome. You need to post that in a pinned thread.

2005 Matthew Good Band Elimination
Devil On Rollerskates replied to NationofCool's topic in Matthew Good
1.Under The Influence (hard decision) 2.Let's Get It On (though Load Me Up is awesome) 3.Suburbia (another hard decision) 4.The Workers Sing A Song Of Mass Production (same as Let's Get It On) 5.Symbolistic White Walls (though I don't hate Rico) 6.21st Century Living 7.Jenni's Song 8.Flight Recorder From Viking 7 9.Everything Is Automatic -
yep.5678 I believe the exact words were "he was the smartest member of the band because he knew when to get out".

What Songs Should Be Acoustic Next?
Devil On Rollerskates replied to prototypepariah's topic in Matthew Good
The Fall Of Man would be a great acoustic song. I can hear how it would sound in my head but sadly I can't play guitar to demonstrate. -
Wil
Devil On Rollerskates replied to Jobber80's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Wil is awesome. I saw him open for Matt in Halifax last year. I got a signed copy of Both Hands, which I have to agree doesn't capture his live energy. But it's still good. -
Actualy I don't think he thinks MG is an asshole. MG has said they keep in touch through email.

Dimmu Borgir
Devil On Rollerskates replied to Dan #2's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I'm listening, they sound petty cool. -
He just played a show in Buffalo. And I'm sure it's not the politics that prevents him from going to the States more often.

2005 Matthew Good Band Elimination
Devil On Rollerskates replied to NationofCool's topic in Matthew Good
1.All Together (one of my favs) 2.She's Got A New Disguise (even though A Better Pain is very good also) 3.Man From Harold Wood 4.Prime Time Deliverance (tough choice) 5.While We Were Hunting Rabbits 6.Life Beyond The Minimum Safe Distance 7.A Boy And His Machine Gun 8.Fine Art Of Falling Apart (so moving) 9.Avalanche (I still love Inescapable Us!) -
2005 Matthew Good Band Elimination
Devil On Rollerskates replied to NationofCool's topic in Matthew Good
1.Omissions of the Omen (one of the best tracks on LOTGA) 2.Fated (fantastic song) 3.I Miss New Wave (so many great pre-MGB demos aren't getting a fair chance because they're being put up against powerhouse songs like this one) 4.Fearless (same as #3) 5.Apparitions (Rooms)(this was the toughest choice in all of round 1. The Apparitions from Underdogs is classic but I like the "passionate-angry" part at the beginning of the Rooms version and I think the emptiness of the new version adds to the song. There's also another acoustic Apparitions that's very good.) 6.Double Life (both good songs but I like the "terrible's in fashion" part in DL) 7.Going All The Way (though I like Song For The Girl a lot too) 8.House Of Smoke And Mirrors (Alabama Motel Room is good, but HOSAM is great) 9.Waiting For The Great Destruction -
New Metallica
Devil On Rollerskates replied to Minx333's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I thought St. Anger was decent. Certainly nowhere near the greatness of their 80s albums. -

Maddox is hilarious. I like U2's old stuff. -
