  1. I'm considering heading up for july 4th weekend for the Bala show...my buddie(s) have cottages up there so it could work.
  2. Damn you! By the time I asked for one, they were all gone! Maybe I'll get one tonight. Still haven't left for Boston yet lol.
  3. The show was AWESOME! I managed to convince two of my buddies to go. They enjoyed it. The fuck wall st part was funny. Not too much too add to what Gomo said. I found my way to Ontario bar after, and needless to say I have the worst hangover ever. Im supposed to be halfway to Boston right now, so I suppose I should go find my car and start driving... oh yeah, you forgot to add that they did a little of the Love Will Tear Us Apart riff during Load Me Up. Also Blake really is very smiley/animated. Love him!
  4. Sitting here at the bar at Bowery Ballroom, they opened the doors early. The bus is parked literally in front of the door. Saw Milos standing outside it. Enjoying a delicious Blue Point Toasted Lager. I saw MG at Arizonas in 08, so that could explain why there were less people. It was awesome being outside, was a beautiful summer night.
  5. Matthew Good Friday!!! Dude I walked right by the bus at the last NYC show. Maybe they moved it after. I'd like to see if we can find it after tonight's show. It's gotta be down one of the side streets. Would be neat if it were on Elizabeth St, since that's my first name, but that's on the opposite side of Bowery so I doubt it. Oh yeah, anyone need an extra ticket for the Boston show tomorrow? Looks like my ex is bailing on me. Typical.
  6. I know, I'm just trying to get facts straight. I was at Matt's last show at Arizona's back in August of 2008. Still no where near 3000 people. Not even 1000.
  7. Massey Hall holds that much? That's where I saw Smashing Pumpkins a year or so ago. I don't remember it being that big.
  8. You mean 300, right? I've been to Arizona's; no way you're fitting 3000 people in there unless he's playing out in the field next door. As far as the cost of the ticket, $28 is CHEAP! I've seen an array of bands of the years. I've spent $100 a ticket to see Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and DMB in the past. On the opposite end of that, the first time I saw MGB 9 years ago it was only $10. $28 is still a bargain. To see such a quality artist in such a small, intimate venue is quite the oppurtunity. You have to consider how many people all get a cut. All of the costs running a tour such as this add up; the cost of gas, crew, food, hotels. The venue takes a cut. Matt's said he's not making a dime off the tour; he's doing it for the fans. So the only thing he may actually make money on is merch.
  9. I've got an inflatable monkey I'd love him to sign. We'll see how that goes.
  10. NIN was amazing, but they're the type of band I'm happy with only have seen once. I'm just not a fan of huge arena shows. Would've been nice to have caught them when they did the smaller club tour recently.
  11. It's funny you mention Everclear. I saw them at Roseland Ballroom in NYC back in 1999, a smallish venue, and then again a few years later (2001 I think) at Madison Square Garden. I definitely preferred the smaller show. 1 hour to an hour and a half in a smaller venue is, in my opinion, infinitely better than 2+ hours in a big venue.
  12. I'll say it again: quality over quantity. Plus, he's not sick, and is enjoying the tour. That equals a great show. I'm driving 5 hours for a hour show, and I ain't complaining. Last time he did a tour of the states was in 2008, and it was acoustic. Prior to that, it was 2001. He'll tour down here again I'm sure, but certainly not till after the next record is released. So at least another two years. Anyone know about what time soundchecks usually take place? It supposed to be gorgeous in NYC on Friday, I'm heading in early to spend the day. Figured I'd see if I can at least hear the soundcheck from outside Bowery. If not hell, Washington Square Park isn't too far, there's always some great music going on there.
  13. Let's Get it On, House of Smoke and Mirrors.
  14. Quality over quantity. I've got tickets for the NYC and Boston shows. Will be my 9th & 10th time seeing him, 3rd time in NYC. First time was back in 01 with MGB, I was 16 and it was a 21+ show. I only got in because my parents were with me, hah. They didn't much care for Matt lighting stuffed animals on fire. My dad liked the cheerleaders though. Anyway, very excited! Bowery Ballroom is a great venue.
