After some fine detective work, I've determined you'd probably be a number larger than 200. edit: upon further inspection I'm probably more like 12th or so anyway.

Yeah, I don't know too many people who appreciate the movie, alot of people say it's too slow, not enough action, and so on. It's somewhat of a shame.

Influences And Inspirations Of Matthew Good
HoboFactory replied to insane_child's topic in Matthew Good
I can't hear too much in common between Matt Good and Steve Earle, the lyrics maybe, the sounded not really. So as for who Matt was influenced by as far as sound goes...hellifino -
*walks away sorrowfully* probably 200th

I saw like 20 minutes of it once...I didn't find it interesting enough to keep watching; but that goes for almost anything you'll find on TV.

Just slightly crazy.

This is overall my favorite movie, nothing short of amazing.

I don't watch it ALL THAT frequently, but the episode that really made me laugh the most is when they were debating whether or not to change the town flag because it depicts a lynching. Klan leader: "Alright good work brothers, now let's all go get a hot shower." Klansmen: "HOT SHOWER! HOT SHOWER!"

I like "Sleeping In" best: Last week i had the strangest dream Where everything was exactly how it seemed Where there never any mystery on who shot john f kennedy It was just a man with something to prove Slightly bored and severely confused He steadied his rifle with his target in the center And became famous on that day in november Dont wake me i plan on sleeping Dont wake me i plan on sleeping in Dont wake me i plan on sleeping Dont wake me i plan on sleeping in And then last night i had that strange dream Where everything was exactly how it seemed Where concerns about the world getting warmer The people thought they were just being rewarded For treating others as they like to be treated For obeying stop signs and curing diseases For mailing letters with the address of the sender Now we can swim any day in november Dont wake me i plan on sleeping (now we can swim any day in november) Dont wake me i plan on sleeping in Dont wake me i plan on sleeping Dont wake me i plan on sleeping in Dont wake me i plan on sleeping in Dont wake me i plan on sleeping -

Any favorite songs, things of that type?? -
I never liked that "Life Beyond..." song..so I deleted it a long time ago...but now that I'm listening to a bunch of songs that I deleted that I've gotten back recently (like Rico, Symbolistic White Walls, Everything is Automatic) they're all really good and I don't know what I was thinking when I got rid of them. So right now I'm in the hasty process of (re)acquiring every possible song.

Kind of interesting stuff, not too many people have heard I'm sure. Anyone here a fan??

It's a collection of letters from the soldiers in Iraq as well as letters from their families. I've not read it yet, but I'll be sure to as soon as possible. Amazon's editorial review: American soldiers serve willingly. They risk their lives so the rest of us can be safe. The one small thing they ask, though, is that they not be sent into harm's way unless it is absolutely necessary. But after being lied to about weapons of mass destruction and about the connection between al Qaeda and Iraq; after being forced by stop-loss orders to extend their deployment; after being undertrained, underequipped, and overworked long after George Bush declared Iraq "Mission Accomplished," these soldiers have something to say. From his famous 2003 Oscar acceptance speech to his record-breaking documentary Fahrenheit 9/11, Michael Moore has been an outspoken critic of the Bush administration and the war in Iraq. But in this book, Moore gives the spotlight to the real heroes of protest: the men and women who have fought in Iraq and want the American public to know how they feel about their mission and their commander in chief. Moore also fields letters from veterans of other wars and mothers, wives, and siblings of our heir anger and frustration, their tears and pain, and their hopes and prayers. Impassioned, accessible, and moving, these are letters that reveal the true hearts and minds of the men, women, and families on the front line.

Really depressing that I'll probably never be able to see Matt perform live. You would think he'd release a DVD of some type at least. I mean haven't even been able to find any live video performance video clips on the interent. ;)

Empty Road, if ya ever heard the acoustic version.
