  1. i've seen metric like, a million times. by which i mean, four or five. always a great energetic show. emily haines was spectacular in her solo tour as well. met her afterwards and she signed my copy of 'knives don't have your back'. we had a nice conversation about elliott smith until some dorky fanboy cut in and started drooling over her. fantasies is my favorite work by them so far. the most mature and well-crafted work. satellite mind is teh best!
  2. 99% of us is failure, a single explosion and black helicopter! i always liked 99%, but i assumed it would be really boring live. i was so wrong. so much more emotion comes through, i couldn't believe how well he pulled it off! black helicopter was the most artfully done out of all the songs in the setlist when i saw him last summer. it had the most definition and subtleties.
  3. i remember 'discovering' this song after avalanche came out through limewire or somesuch filesharing program and thought it was a demo for the next album. i was sadly mistaken... but the song rocks! after becoming more familiar with his work, it certainly has a vintage feel to it of his older stuff in terms of vocals and composition.
  4. terminator: salvation. i enjoyed the slow pacing of the movie and airy environment. believably post-apocalyptic without being overboard. gotta admit, i wasn't a fan of john connor's messiah complex. 'i'm gonna save the whole world!'. i understand he was prophecized and all, but still, was a little annoying. and i think the one who sacrificed his life at the end should have been the one to live. he was a much better hero. but then, i've always been a fan of underdogs.
  5. i think its super purty. very excited for the evolution of this next album. always had the greatest respect for the guy.
