What Graphic Novels Are You Reading?
hutty replied to Muran's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
the ones i've read or am currently reading: The sandman Watchmen Preacher Fables Arkham Asylum Captain Canuck (seriously awesome stuff!) The Killing Joke The Marvel Civil War collection once i can afford all the copies Maus (amazing read, heartbreaking stuff) Persepolis (same deal as Maus) I'm sure there is more that I am forgetting, but god I love to read comics/graphic novels, whatever you want them to be called -
for me it's part hype, but also because James Cameron is an amazing director, and i just love sci-fi movies. Also, the whole deal that this movie supposdly uses 3-D really well is endearing because i am yet to be impressed by 3D, most of the time its used just because they can, but I've heard that this movie does it really well, and doesn't throw it in your face all the time
-
i totally will be after i finish all of my exams, and 3D all the way, the only way to see it. I cannot wait

i unno, learn real information, and not some stupid story about the army trying saving one soldier. Don't me wrong, the beginning of the movie is amazing and realistic, but after that its just gets bad. Not that this show is any better actually

yah when i went to the hour it was for the show with Micheal Moore, so I was hoping to see that interview, but it was already taped, and instead i got to see some British guy who likes math, so for some interviews they tape them the day before, so hopefully you guys get lucky and get to go to see the real deal
-
I went to a taping of the hour a few months back, and for my group they only asked for the person who requested the tickets, and really they only check your name and number of people. then let you in. It's simple and easy

Trailers That Are Better Than The Actual Movie
hutty replied to sodamntired's topic in The Silver Screen
oh man, the double lightsaber was probably the most epic thing ever, and even if the movie was total garbage, Darth Maul was still a pretty sweet villain, it was just, well, everything else in the movie that sucked -

Trailers That Are Better Than The Actual Movie

honestly i prefer the directors cut, it goes deeper into the story and characters, but yah it still doesn't even compare to the novel. And then of course, there is the ultimate cut, ugh. Also another trailer that was better than the movie has to be The Phantom Menace, my god, I saw that trailer and just lost it, and then Jar Jar Binks was revealed, and my life was sad -

The History channel has launched a new TV miniseries where they take old WWII footage and restore the colour and put it out in High def. I saw the first episode, and all I have to say is wow, they took an idea that could be very affective and just ruined it. They spent the first 20 minutes flooring through the history of the war as if it was not important, and then focused on the American aspect of the war. To me they messed up, but how does anyone else who has seen the show feel? Link to site: http://www.history.com/content/wwii-in-hd

Trailers That Are Better Than The Actual Movie

I'm gonna have to go with the watchmen, I love the book, so when i saw the trailer, i was in love, it was perfect. The actual movie was good, but it just wasn't the same -
i'd have to go with load me up...kidding, but actually i would say sort of a protest song, don;t know why but i love it, and coming out in purple because it is so ridiculous, it just cracks me up every time i hear it
