I cant pick a winner here. 4)Tripoli vs Rico --- Tripoli made it to round 2 where it lost 13-8 to Strange Days. --- Rico made it to round 2, where it was destroyed 20-3 by Weapon. My Pick: Tripoli.. such an awesome tune. My Pick: Change of Season Prediction: No idea, not many people mention these two songs in discussions. 6)War is Over vs Apparitions --- War is Over lost 9-5 in round 1 vs Cant Get Shot In The Back --- Apparitions finished in the top 10, losing to Weapon 12-9. My Pick: Apparitions (who isn’t gonna pick this) Prediction: Apparitions obviously.. but how much will it win by? Look for group E, roughly 10am on Sept 7.

6. thread closed. see next thread for results and next matches.
7. muchmusic used to be good when they played music videos.. now they just have tv shows.. theyre basically MTV... they should change from muchmusic to "toomuchfillershows"
8. Have you guys ever listened to a song and then think the lyrics were one thing, and then be completely shocked to find out you were wrong. Here are some lyrics that I always heard when listening to MG. Avalanche - during the whisper part "taco bell shoes" Hello Time Bomb - "push in push in push till it hurts" when it should be "push and push and.." i just thought "in" made the song fit the sexual context of the video.. Running For Home - "so low for how high it's too late too die" (so low for how high it's too late tonight) Symbolistic White Walls - "i have a sidekick shes says im lovely.." (i have a psychic she says im lonely) Suburbia - "baby if i was into men you would be mine" hahah i always laugh at that one (baby if i was in demand..)
9. I'm guessing it just wouldnt have fit in with the packaging. The digipak case is just the disc and two flaps which he used images for. But then again they could have put a thin booklet (maybe 1-2 pages) into one of the cardboard slits like what Blink 182 did for their "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" album
10. does anyone know what Matt wanted to release as a video?? I also heard rumblings for 21st Century Living back in August of 2003.
11. LOL how very clever crusader i liked that!
12. i thought the same thing. then i scolded myself for thinking a man was trying to be sexy. lol. i guess it's more simple rock and roll type look.. like John Mayer
13. lol. actually some of these matches are much closer than i originally thought.. i guess when you guys post your votes.. it'd be fun to see what your thoughts are
14. sounds like a bad idea.. but then we're all "in love with a bad idea" so let's do it!
15. RESULTS FROM GROUP A: 1)Strange Days 22 Life Beyond The Minimum 1 <--- I'm surprized it scored a 1 at all. I guess this puts Strange Days in #1 spot for the time being. 2)Load Me Up 15 I Miss New Wave 8 3)The Rat Who Would Be King 17 Comfy Criminals 6 4)Fall of Man 17 Ex-Pats 6 5)Under The Influence 15 Alabama Motel Room 8 <-- I voted for UTI.. but I was kinda hoping AMR would win also. 6)Running For Home 19 Carmelina 4 <---- maaan RFH is killing the competition.. it's clearly starting where it left off. ouch! All righty, now that I found the excel file with the tournament from the Double Life.. I thought I'd add some spice to the stats by showcasing what the songs did in the "Double Life Message Board" tournament Group B 1) She's Got a New Disguise vs Giant --- She's Got a New Disguise went 5-9, bowing out in the first round to Near Fantastica --- Giant went 53-29, making it to the vote off round, where it was voted out, making it the #5 rank song. My Pick: Giant Prediction: Giant in a land slide. 2) Indestructible vs The Fine Art of Falling Apart --- Indestructible had a record of 4-14, losing to Apparitions in the first round. --- The Fine Art of Falling Apart went 25-28, losing to Sort of a Protest Song in round 3 My Pick: Indestructible Prediction: FAoFA did surprizingly decent last time (defeating 21st Century Living and Future is X-Rated) so I'm guessing this. 3) Generation X-Wing vs Radio Bomb --- Generation X-Wing finished 4-7, losing to I, The Throw Away in round 1. --- Radio Bomb also finished 4-7, losing to Change of Season in round 1. My Pick: Radio Bomb Prediction: Radio Bomb.. I just think more people like it better. 4) Can't Explain vs Everything is Automatic --- Can't Explain is making it's debut in this tournament. --- Everything is Automatic went 5-9, losing to Failing The Rorschach Test in a shocker in round 1. My Pick: Everything is Automatic Prediction: EIA in a massive landslide. 5) Blue Skies Over Badlands vs Suburbia --- Blue Skies Over Badlands is making its debut in this tournament. --- Suburbia finished an amazing 80-56, and had the 5th highest win percentage, only to lose in the finals! My Pick: Suburbia Prediction: Suburbia wins by somewhat a landslide. 6) I, The Throw Away vs Raygun --- I, The Throw Away finished 10-19, losing to Omissions of the Omen in round 2. --- Raygun finished 4-7, losing to Weapon in the first round. My Pick: I, The Throw Away Prediction: Raygun.. a lot of people here like the upbeat stuff.
16. end of voting.
17. He joined the band after they were called matthewgoodband i think he joined officially when raygun was released.. but he does play in the video for S.W.W. To juanpe: i know that MGB broke up lol.. i was kidding. Also.. the comment previous to this one.. that sounds a lot like Matt Good type of comment. Does Matt Good use this forum? I know he occasionally posts on another board.
18. at the stroke of midnight (1 hour 31 minutes) because the last one was at 3 am.. and well I dont wanna post at 3am. lol.. so at midnight itll be good to go. EST. I'm trying to give roughly equal time per round and matches to make it equal as I can, for statistics. 1 hour 29 min to go!
19. im 99% sure its not cant tackle cant shoot.. but what do i know lol
20. I know some of these seem like complete blowouts (and ofcourse there will be), but each vote does help towards statistics and the rankings for each song. So when we get to the vote off rounds, the groups can be made according to their statistical numbers.
21. wait wait wait.. you're telling me that MGB broke up!!!! lies! next youre gonna be telling me that man landed on the moon
22. i might be the only one who loves LOTGA the most.. so a lot of these are from LOTGA: Alabama Motel Roon - i LOVE the intro to this.. and when he sings "the gun it lies next to me.. whispering" Symbolistic White Walls - it's the live version.. "open your eyes the nights and days.." that whole extra chorus is my favourite! Native Son - the clapping and at the end when he goes "look mom no hands" Havent Slept In Years (raygun version) - the intro is so kickass! (it was also the first song i learned to play on guitar) Radio Bomb - "you be starsky and ill be hutch" War is Over - when he's yelling at the end "war is over war is over" Omissions - "man made god so god could make man.. man makes the devil so that he can understand why it is that every day everything always turns out this way" that should be good for now.. ill post later albums after
23. yep. you got it lol
24. www.matthewgood.org has Apparitions on the site for viewing! ;) I picked Indestructible.. the whole idea of cloning is pretty cool and it fits the song so well.. Load Me Up is a close 2nd.. that's just too cool (it did win video of the year in 2000) and I couldnt vote for apparitions and strange days because those are so far advanced.. they cant be compared to the rest of the videos the world has to offer.
25. Haha.. that West Nile picture was funny.. even the fans were looking at the mosquito. In Avalanche, when Matt starts to do his little whispering thing.. it sounds an awful lot like "Taco bell shoes" and someone made a desktop wallpaper with it. I found it to be quite funny as well.
