Loser Anthems went for $90? Woah...gotta thank Anton (it was Anton, right?) for pointing out the retailer I got mine from a few months ago...

Suburbia Advertising on Police Cars I share your outrage at Avalanche's apparent lead and AoPC's low rank.

I know ;) ...I thought my response reflected that, but apparently not. Ah well....good times had by all and so on.

Yep...I never said I made much sense when it comes time to put ideas to paper (or in this case digital media) but I can't say I really care whether you understand or not. I'm not getting drawn into a flame war with you, if that's what you're looking for. Go check out Anton's new rules before you decide to call me a degenerate again.
-
Degenerate is in essence a meaningless term when applied to a person....relative only to society. If in your world, I am a degenerate, then fantastic. Proud to be one. Reality may suck, but self delusion doesn't make you any better than I am. Thanks for trying though.

Guess what...the world isn't ending today. Sorry to disappoint. I think (and correct me if I'm wrong, Jen...) that the point of this thread was to stem the tide of nearly identical bush-bashing threads. Five is more than enough...let's not allow this one to degenerate into yet another one... edited for my atrocious typing skills

There is no dark side when it comes to something this sujective...and considering the kind of people this forum seems to attract, saying she voted for Bush is pretty gutsy, at least in a superficial message board sense... Way to go ;) But remember, hating Bush is the in thing these days, so what the hell...

For The Love Of God What Have You Done

...Alot of my posts have been webcomics lately. Ah well. -
That's the core issue here. It's easy to say that we should just 'not fight', but there's a critical issue here...we're dealing with humans. Humans kill each other. Always have. As a species, we ARE greedy, we ARE selfish, and we do NOT have some wonderful universal 'capacity for peace'. The issues Matt brought up are the harsh realities of our world, like it or not. Just because you (we, whatever, I'm not pointing fingers) wouldn't go to war for any reason doesn't mean the rest of humanity sees things the same way. The fact is that groups of people WILL try to enslave, evict, or kill other groups of people from time to time. The reasons don't even matter...it can and will happen. War is the product of the potential victims deciding they're not going to let those things happen. When it comes down to it, not many people will allow themselves to be murdered when they have a chance to defend themselves. Not many people have a moral fiber that strong...though alot of people seem to think they do. Is war bad? Certainly. Is genocide better than war? I don't think so, myself...I for one, would fight, kill, and quite possibly die before I allowed some aggressor to massacre everyone I know. Self defence is as human as any other instinct...the moral divider is whether you are the aggressor or the victim. It's happened before, it's happening now, and it will continue to happen in the future. There is no magic formula for world peace other than a war so cataclysmic that no human remains alive at the end.

We will...always are. We're too closely related not to be affected.

Nobody ever said the killing would stop if Kerry got into power. Good or bad, I think everyone was expecting too much in the way of change. There are NO guarantees that removing Bush would make anything better (though it was likely), and the change would certainly not be immediate. As much as I'm sure you all hate the Iraq situation, for example, immediate full withdrawl could very well be disasterous. Not for the americans, but for the people they leave behind in a smashed country. Time will tell, I guess. As it stands now, at least Bush's popularity is shown to be only marginal...

Nope. Slept better than usual, too. Midterm today, so it's not like I had a choice even if I cared enough to stay up.

Ah yes...the communal showers ;) Superficial plot, terrible acting, inane dialog...but the propaganda commercials are hilarious, and the special effects are killer. It's what happens when a potential B-movie meets a massive production budget. It's also kinda refreshing to see a movie that doesn't try to paint the humans as undeniably the good guys. No diplomacy, just a ton of killin' There's a straight-to-dvd Starship Troopers 2 out now, which I hope never to see. It looks absolutely terrible. EDIT: I've also read the book, which was politically controversial in its time...the two are only loosely related.
