  1. When my friend tells me he's thinking of getting a Macbook, I start telling him about his future. Sitting in Starbucks with his glaringly white computer, wearing a sweater-vest, subtle bell bottoms, crushed velvet scarf, and saucy beret. Sipping on a fair-trade Grand
  2. Mmm, Particle Projection Cannon.
  3. You best back off my Gauss rifle, son. There's still inertia and mass in space. I recall seeing a scene, I think it was Neon Genesis, wherein a huge robot lifted a battleship out of the sea to shield itself from some missiles. Come ON. That ship would have torn ITSELF apart just being manhandled that quickly. Also, Battletech has normal Ninjas and doesn't need big robot ones.
  4. Too big, fast, and too agile to be believable. I have the same problem with Neon Genesis whatever the hell it is. And most other Anime robots I've seen. They violate the laws of physics. That, and I am more interested by something which presents the user with specific tactical limitations...IE, heat vs ammo consumption, speed vs armour, etc. Makes for a more interesting engagement, in game or book form. It's just closer to a believeable combat situation, which suits me just fine. More of a lumbering war machine than a gargantuan yet surprisingly light-footed suit of armor. To be honest, I'm something of a Battletech geek (not to the tabletop gaming extent, mind you). And yeah....TImber Wolf/Mad Cat is the one most people seem to recognise even if they don't know what it's from.
  5. Meh. The japanese ones are alway winged and have swords and such. Huge mechanised ninjas. Battletech stuff was more...clunky. In a good way. ^ No. ^ Yes Anyway. The Mac-PC thing comes down to preference. Most of the reasons for choosing one over the other are fairly trivial to the general public. Try both. Use what works for you...and your wallet.
  6. Volkswagen 'Vortex' bug
  7. I like how their commercials are designed to insult the very people they are trying to market to.
  8. It's surprisingly easy and completely free to protect your Windows PC from viruses. It's mostly common sense and experience. The scanner is just there in case you fuck up. I haven't had anything beyond easily-destroyed adware in years (and that was installed as a package deal with some other stuff - I didn't read the EULA). Simply accept that if a motivated hacker REALLY wants to get in to your computer, they will. Regadless of your hardware, software, precautions,, hopes, dreams, or zodiac sign. There is NO perfect security system. The threat is always one step ahead of the solution.
  9. It'd have to be alot of it.
  10. No. Sam Roberts is a hack. Oh, and we reply about artists we dislike because the opinion holds value equal to it's opposite. Feel the hate flow through you, and so on.
  11. Extended service warrantee and all that crap, I assume.
  12. Two cans of Red Fire, some three and five hours ago respectively. I guess I drank them. I didn't actually eat the cans.
  13. PC...more of everything available. Their commercials are terrible as well, which makes me want to punish them financially.
  14. Wheeeeee Again, it's not actually youtube, but close enough. I love me some Subaru.
