Hey folks, I bought the new Nada Surf Album today online but won't get it for a week. They streamed some of their songs on the website but I didn't listen to them yet. Any thoughts on the album?

I would disagree with that. I think you should start with I/O. I find it eases you into their sound a little more and would give you a better idea if you would like them or not. Bellaclava was a little under-produced in my opinion and rough around the edges. My favourite track off I/O is Jumbojet Headache.

I agree with most of what has been said. I don't see much dispute that he has a great rock band voice, but it seems that each album gets softer and more poppy. I actually like the slow stuff from his first solo album the best, especially St. Lawrence River. His Moist stuff is way better obviously. I pretty much compare him to the Edwin post I Mother Earth days. Edwin was a great leader but when songwriting duties fell on him, all that came out were a few singles and a slow decline.
