Have ever you posted on a message board that included MG as a member before? If you have, I'm surprised that you won't acknowledge that it could very well be him. If you haven't, well, what he posted what pretty typical of some of his message board behavior. Although I don't agree with him on some points, I don't think that he was out of line. The message you are giving out is that Matt is some supreme being who would never insult anyone, criticize anything, or ever make a fucking spelling error. This IS some of the god-like elevation he was speaking of. I'm not saying that that was MG. I just don't know why anyone else would bother.

Get over yourself. Sure, the thread got a bit silly - that happens on all message boards, regardless of the "quality" of his fans. You stated that we must constantly ask ourselves "Have we become those fans"? That's one question (a slightly insulting one, I might add) that I won't lose any sleep over. Regarding his history with message boards, I can see why Matt is slightly sensitive to the content of some - in the past there have been many incidents where posters trying to prove something have gotten out of hand with the insults. However, I think that this thread is a poor example of this, as no one was intending any disrespect. I believe that none of the comments were actually demanding things of Matt, and that everyone assumed he wouldn't be reading this. Long story short, the thread got off-topic. Not a big deal. I do agree with you on one thing. It would be a shame for Matt to judge this board solely on this thread - I think that's it's a great community.
