Favorite Christmas Song?
LonelyWreckage replied to sodamntired's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
^ ;) Only recently found out about this: A bit sketchy, but it has that brilliant Love Is Hell sound. -
Tweeting is fairly useless if you've got facebook. It is good for seeing what certain celebritys think on matters/are doing/are planning to do though.

I wish I had a Sylvia Plath Busted tooth and a smile And cigarette ashes in her drink The kind that goes out, then sleeps for a week The kind that goes out on her own To give me a reason, for well, I dunno And maybe she'd take me to France Or maybe to Spain and she'd ask me to dance In a mansion on the top of a hill She'd ash on the carpets and slip me a pill Then she'd get me pretty loaded on gin And maybe she'd give me a bath How I wish I had a Sylvia Plath... Ryan Adams - Sylvia Plath.

That BM t-shirt looked ace. -
2012*. Hopefully before the Olympics. Yeah...no room for the recent Italian earthquake; zero mention of the EU's turn to federalism; but there was a blackout in NY and Madonna kissed Britney !

I Really Cannot Wait To Get Back To Canada
LonelyWreckage replied to sodamntired's topic in Politics and Debate: WRONG!
What are you doing there, like ? Unless you're in some ultra-conservative state I'm blissfully unaware of, I fear you're misrepresenting your host country a tad unfairly. They've got their fair share of backwards nutjobs - no doubt about that - but you make them sound feral. ;) The first video's not available to watch, sadly... -
2012. .

No, not for me ? Been watching Life - a fantastic new Attenborough series. (can't embed them, BBC doesn't allow it)

Top 10's
LonelyWreckage replied to c0micb0y's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I'm not gonna get away with just 10 for the 90's, so I'll just do the 00's, with even this being difficult. Ryan Adams - Love Is Hell (2004) Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica (2000) Muse - Origin of Symmetry (2001) The Music - The Music (2002) Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R (2000) Editors - The Back Room (2005) The Concretes - The Concretes (2003) Matthew Good Band - Audio of Being (2001) JJ72 - JJ72 (2001) The Vines - Highly Evolved (2002) -
I remember reading that Swedish Pirate Party done better than our Labour party did (current government; one half of our two-party system) in this years European elections. ;)

What Did You Last Watch On Tv?
LonelyWreckage replied to Shiri's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
Gameswipe. -
The Invention of Lying. Had a few funny moments (elderly home sign, Merchant/Barry cameos etc) but all in all pretty cheesy and generally shit - comfortably the worst thing I've seen from Gervais.
-
I didn't see the trailer for it, and didn't really know what to expect beyond 'alien and human civilisiation integratation', so I went in with an open mind and really enjoyed the fuckan thing.

New Muse Album
LonelyWreckage replied to Shortcut To Moncton's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
It's hard to believe a band which released Origin of Symmetry could sink to the depths of Black Holes & Revelations, but the Queen rip-off was an embarassment, especially as a lead single. Uprising's a lot better, but only to the point of BH&R-standard. About time I give up on Muse, but if there ever comes a day when they do a Showbiz or OOS live date, I'll sell my soul to be there, as they're an awesome live act and they were two of the best albums this past decade.
