  1. Man if they could have worked in a Soundwave with transforming cassettes and all that would have been awesome(okay, maybe not cassettes, but it would have been great just to see Ravage). And the moment Prime's voice come on at the beginning of the movie I was just grinning all the way;D IT'S REALLY HIM!!!
  2. The actual guy who does the voice for Jazz in the cartoon passed on a while ago, a real pity - I kinda wished that they could get the original voice of Jazz for the movie as well, since it`s so distinctive.
  3. He was a good soldier;(
  4. heyrabbit: Nah, the movie was plenty serious. I`ve always contended that the human element is an essential part of the whole Transformers concept, but just felt that the hide-and-seek bit in the movie didn`t make sense. Not "make sense" as a stereotypic "serious no nonsense" movie should, this is after all, as you pointed out, a movie about alien robots - but given the context of the situation and the scale of it, I thought that scene would fit in better with something like Shortcircuit, or even ET. The consequence of not finding those glasses, at that moment, carried enough weight that trying to hide something from your parents seemed as unlikely as expecting John O'Connor to hide the fact that T-1000 was out to get him. The bit with Bumblebee talking through radio transmissions was plain awesome, loved that part. As for the rest of the robots, I wasn`t looking so much for more interaction among them, or more political dialogue, but instead, and perhaps I am mistaken to do so, a stronger sense of characterization among the robots that would have gone some way into making you feel the loss of Jazz and such. The radio bits for Bumble for example, that didn`t require a lot of screen time, and it created for a great impression.
  5. Argh, just saw it last night(came out a month later in Japan see?), and overall still having mixed feelings about it. (spoilers ahead, like) I couldn't quite get the whole thing as to why - if you've just been told that you have the sole lead on the one artifact that could mean complete destruction of your planet at the hands of Megatron - you still had to play the whole hide-and-seek game with, of all people, your parents. I mean, it's supposed to be funny, but that whole bit in the house was just... ridiculous. Haha, I was also going on last night about how you never felt much of a connection with the other robots. Maybe they over-optimus primed everything. Maybe it's juts me. Real pity that the other robots were never really fleshed out, I'm wondering if I'm the only who couldn't feel much loss when Jazz got ripped in two, nevermind that you never got a clear look at his face throughout the whole movie. Man, and I was so positive about it.
  6. Hey thanks for the wiki link, some pretty good stuff here;)
  7. Yeah their myspace page is one of the few places to hear some of their music, as per the link above(thanks Beth!). Definately a different take on things, "Until It Starts Again", which in on their myspace page(off the Maginot Line album) is probably what one would consider as "mainstream fawn", ha.
  8. Ah, it was tuned half a step down, not one step, didn`t type it right there.
  9. Any fans here of Raising The Fawn? Picked up "Maginot Line" a while ago, which is sweet(though interestingly I`ve yet to get Northern Sea). I know that their new album has been out since July, any reviews and the like?
  10. Tried out the intro for "Born Losers" for the above link, and can`t decide if it`s really a G (on a step down guitar) or a G? that he`s playing(310023) after watching his performance on Canada AM. Plus, the picking part later on is probably wrong, there`s an open strong there somewhere. (chopped in half because it wasn`t coming out right) |----3--333-------------- |----3--333-------------- |----0--000-------------- |----0--000-------------- |----2--222-0-00-3-33- |-3-3--333-------------- -----------------------| 1-1--111----1-------| 0-0--000--2---2----| x6 2-2--222-3-3---3--| 3-3--333------------| -----------------------| Help anyone?
  11. Thanks for reposting it, missed out on the first two times and was waiting in the shadows until someone else asked again;)
  12. Thought that the sound quality was excellent, I break into a smile every time he goes into the main verse - hard to imagine the audio quality being better, really.
  13. That`s a long list. How many songs does he perform per set?
  14. Comepletely helpless when it comes to tabbing a song, but found this tab for Born Losers on the net while out looking, haven`t tried it out yet. Hope that I`m not stepping on anyone`s toes here: Born Losers Tab
  15. Awesome stuff, man, that voice. First saw the video over at YouTube, thanks so much for this - for those of us not in Canada, this stuff can only happen if someone records, converts and posts it.
