  1. And here I thought I was the only one with that reaction to those albums. Maybe I'm just trying too hard to like them.....
  2. I immediately liked Tiger by the Tail, though I find myself liking it even more after every listen. "We have Done This Before, We Will Do It Again" is also fantastic, thanks for sharing Matt! I really do hope that it is viable for you to do an album in the same vein as these songs, can really feel the Talk Talk vibe.
  3. If the live album is either: 1) completely acoustic (because let's be honest, we'd all love another acoustic tour) or 2) All b-sides and rarities. Because like LostAndFoundAndLostAgain said, with all the quality bootlegs out now, there's no need for another live album.
  4. I'd have to go with #2 simply because I'd love to hear Man of Action and TRWWBK live. Personally, I'd love if he started doing album tours, though I don't think he'd ever play MGB albums.
  5. Wow, thanks for these! Barely remembered how he was like back then. Quite the contrast indeed.
  6. When he signed onto his new label (Frostbyte?) I recall Matt posting that he hopes to release new songs/albums more quickly. Or maybe I'm just imagining that. :D
  7. My fave song always seems to change, and depends on my mood. I think the most interesting thing for me is there is always an MG/MGB song to listen to no matter what mood I'm in.
  8. I can also confirm that it is on there and that I can stream it.
  9. Pics and some short vids from last night in Edmonton: Champions of Nothing - Non Populus - Letters in Wartime -
  10. My ticket says doors at 8, so the opening band probably won't be on till 9ish.
  11. Albums purchased so far this year: Alice in Chains - The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here Atoms for Peace - Amok David Bowie - The Next Day Depeche Mode - Delta Machine Filter - The Sun Comes Out Tonight Matthew Good - Arrows of Desire (should be a given) NIN - Hesitation Marks Bagboy and EP1 - Pixies The Black Angels - Indigo Meadow Wavves - Afraid of Heights Great year for new music!
  12. 235 artists, 740 albums, 7501 songs totaling 55GB. Mostly MP3 256kbs. Used to have more but I couldn't fit it all on my 64GB iPod, so I deleted some for some reason. Having since recently replaced my iPod I can finally accumulate more music.
  13. Some pics and video from last night in Edmonton. Pics http://www.flickr.com/photos/48004031@N06/sets/72157637697206835/ Video (highly recommend you watch in 1080p) clip of Last Parade - clip of Non Populus - clip of Via Dolorosa - clip of Had it Coming - full video of Giant -

    Live Road

Acoustic tour + live recordings = bliss Matt, I don't think you'd get any responses from users on here who wouldn't be excited about an acoustic tour. I was lucky enough to attend your acoustic tour in 2007, and as much as I've loved the other live shows of yours that I've attended, that acoustic show has by far been my favourite concert I've ever attended of any band. Especially considering the smaller venue, the level of intimacy just adds to the energy of show. And to couple that with recordings of each show? I'd gladly pay for those recordings if that's the road you choose to go down.

    Ted Talks

It will most likely be put up here http://www.tedxtoronto.com/talks/ Looks like they started putting up the 2013 talks so hopefully they put his up there soon.
  16. If I REALLY had to rank them, after listening to the album for a week, it would look like this: Letters in Wartime Garden of Knives Via Dolorosa Guns of Carolina So Close Arrows of Desire Hey Hell Heaven Mutineering We're Long Gone Had It Coming I just.....can't get into Mutineering for some reason. I love the lyrics, but the song feels like it's missing something. Maybe I'll like it more over time. I was thinking the same thing the other day! Letters definitely is in the vain of Underdogs.
  17. Deezer.com is also streaming the album, quality is MUCH better than the CBC stream http://www.deezer.com/en/album/6905077 Only caveat, you need to sign up for the site, otherwise you're limited to 30s of the song. Free for the first 15 days though (which is fine, only need it to listen to the album), but the nice thing is if you install the Deezer app on your phone/ipod/tablet you can sync the album for offline play! EDIT: Official links are up on Matt's site http://matthewgood.org/news/2013/9/17/arrows-of-desire-full-album-stream
  18. Dammit! All this does is make me want the album to come out sooner! Great album, and as with most of Matt's work it will go generally unapprecriated by the masses.
  19. Agreed, I'm hoping that all he meant was that Stu went off with his band, but you never know. Shame too, as much as I like Jimmy and his stage presence I will always miss Stu's distinct guitar sound. It made songs like Emptys Theme Park so much better (which I thought impossible considering how good the album version is).
  20. I'm only 25 but I feel the same way, I hate pretty much everything I've been hearing on the radio so I just don't listen to it anymore. It's forced me to look elsewhere for music, which is how I've found so many bands that I now listen regularly to.
  21. Not sure if this one's been posted anywhere http://lithiummagazine.com/interview-matthew-good-august-28-2013
  22. Matt uploaded Via Dolorosa to his soundcloud page https://soundcloud.com/matthew-good/viadolorosa-tk3-l2-1 Really liking it!
  23. I think it came with the pre-order as I don't seem to have it :(
  24. I remember that! It was one of the reasons I bought through iTunes (that and I wanted to listen to it the second it was released). I guess I don't have very good self control, I need my fix! Ever since Vancouver I've always bought a digital copy and a physical copy so that wouldn't have to wait for the CD to come in.
  25. Just ordered mine as well. Will also be buying it on iTunes so that I have a digital copy day 1.
