Try lemon or lime juice. Cheaper than the Bitter Apple stuff because you probably already have some in the house, and I've never known a cat that didn't utterly despise the smell and taste of citrus. Going All the Way is easily my least favourite MGB song. A friend of mine recorded a cover version with a different (better) arrangement a few years ago and ever since I haven't been able to stand the original.
