i never heard of this guy till i saw his name on the ads for the upcoming joel plaskett show. figured since i payed to see him, i should check him out: peter elkas i was considering not going to the show until joel plaskett took the stage, but i think i'll go for the opener now. he's pretty good.

i think his songs are great. i'm just greedy. i'd rather hear two more of his own works than a decent cover of a dead kennedy's song [no cover of that could ever be great, just cuz biafra's voice, and east bay's 'voice' (his distinct guitar sound) is part of what makes the original so awesome], and a cover of a shit song by a shit composer (my opinion, remember...i'm not stating johnston's shittiness as fact).

i'd like to trade the two cover songs for two originals, please.

i was wondering that. except for the people that have met/talked to each other, where do you get voices to go with the face?

i almost pre-ordered it this morning (futureshop has it cheaper than amazon, i believe) but i think i'll just wander over to futureshop that tuesday morning and buy it. the preorder doesn't really make a difference, unless they offer some kind of deal (like signed cds or t-shirts...thanks, strung out!)

it's not their best, for sure. and that pink cellphone thing is garbage.
