Weezer's New Album
Dan #2 replied to Shortcut To Moncton's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
i have blue pinkerton green and i just think of anything after as something similiar to posthumous tupac i think rivers would have made the strongest statement by going back to harvard and dropping weezer, seeing the weezer years as his "wild youth" and moving on to be the bank manager in buttfucknowhere nebraska, that he was born to be. -

-
pretty neat, i saw them open for Buck 65 not too long ago, and they were sweet. like a 'house' dj and a rapper who screams live haha. anyone heard of them? i bought their cd and it's definitely solid too

i've heard of it as drug, but, as you said, people who are 'insane' don't? do they not remember the dream, or do they not recognise that they're dreaming, or do they literally not dream? this is what i'm trying to figure out for myself, because i'm either not dreaming or not remembering.. i don't know what to think. and i guess this could be my situation, as i know my memory has been affected. maybe i'm just not remembering it? it makes perfect sense, that dreams would be the brain's way of "locking in information," to me, just because it's kinda like re-reading, vs trying to recall something you've read once.. i'm worried because i'm now not sure what department i'm lacking in ;) i hope i hope i hope they come back i miss them. it's like tv without the mindlessness.

What Is Punk?
Dan #2 replied to borntohula's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
i see exactly what you mean, and i'm not saying jesus necessarily did a bad thing, but i'm saying jesus gave the earliest christians an 'option b,' in regards to contemporary life, as cruel as it was at the time. he didn't try to overthrow the cruel mofos, he said to his followers -
you've taken my quote out of context. nothing on the internet is cool. myspace was cooler than facebook until it tried to emulate facebook's "success" edit: sorry to revive

i still haven't dreamed, since the accident ;) maybe i am retarded now

What Is Punk?
Dan #2 replied to borntohula's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
i may be wrong (i'm sure you could discredit me on many different grounds), but i would agree and do strongly believe that MSI are as punk as the Clash, if not more, when taking social sorroundings/settings into account. (MSI have taken the atari-inspired/derivative (nintendo ds) generation, and said "you ma'fuckaz will not keep me passive under the tide of mindless/souless waste that is sweeping up my contemporaries") i don't feel that punk is neccassarily about angering (the action in itself) the cracker-ass dirtbags who have somehow emerged on top of the human race, in a directorial sense, nor is it being right or wrong, but about being honest, while calling bullshit on the human-elements/institutions/perspectives/experiences that we have picked up along the way, as if they were important in the first place. i don't think 'punk' is about pissing people off, but i think punk is about pissing off ignorant people. it is, in my opinion, a literal embodiement of the quote "i never wanted to be different i just wanted to be me" but having said that, these spineless fucking douchebag kids who have misinterpreted and brought about the wave of the "i'm punk because i'm misunderstood and holy crap do i love mcdonald's and west 49" generation. i am of the opinion punk was so horribly misinterpreted by the suburbs that they "took the wind out of it's sails," so to speak punk is punching yourself in the face out of aggravation caused by HAVING to have an id and refusing to let the school issue you anything but a bloody-nose id i disagree with this, because it could be argued intensely/easily that jesus was a proponent of conformity, just not to the status quo, but to his own brand/schism of conformity -
i've got tickets for his may 24 show; i got to meet him last nov or so, after his last show in fredericton, and i'm hoping i get to meet him after this one too. i was thinking i'd ask him about a second book, if ever afforded the opportunity. i'd really like another but honestly i could see myself disliking it just as easily as i could see myself loving it, but i base that statement upon my reception of his newer lyrics, which i do feel to have slightly weakened, on each album, since AoB. that said though, i think each of his solo albums have excelled AoB, lyrically, on at least a few tracks, so i know i could be wrong/dumb.. (edit: i'm betting on the latter.)

thank you very very much!! i'm still very interested in working with the bored to obtain all the demos.. not to too explicitly bribe anyone, but how about this? if you can arrange this somehow, i could mail you a cd or dvd you wanted, or i could make a donation to nf, to help with server costs and such, whatever i had been donating to haha.. i really want to get these all this once so i can lock them into my new external hard drive and be able to love them forever. also you can direct any/all further inquiries to me and i'd be glad to share them from there ;) i made a +jackpillowhead page today on wikpedia and it was pretty much immediately flagged for deletion. i'm hoping more knowledgable people than myself take it out of my hands, i don't entirely know how to make something "wiki-friendly." i made an evolve page though and what i wrote was pretty much "evolve's an east coast party, traditionally observed in antigonish." thankfully someone did pick that up from me hahaha.

i'm trying to keep as complete an itunes as possible, and this sometimes means digging. any help would be much appreciated, was it 2005? i remember hearing it when it was 'the new one,' but i'm kinda guessing, as to what year that would have been. late high school i think hahaha. i have started but haven't got far, can i give a mod or crusader or anyone my nf$ for just a file with all the demos and unreleased stuff? individually downloading each song, and deleting all twelve thousand folders it comes with (kidding ;)) has gotten arduous. i'll do it, and i am doing it anyway, normally, but i'm just looking for something easier.. i don't have the time. thanks everyone<3

vista, like i said, feels like it takes me out of the equation. right now, i'm trying to delete this shitty like itunes 4 and replace it with itunes 7, and it keeps telling me i need an administrator, and it's making the matter of deleting and replacing itunes a mess, because i'm apparently not the fucking administrater. i'm the only person who uses the comp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Deftones!
Dan #2 replied to Hyphnip's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Adrenaline is definitely the album of theirs that i've listened to the least, but sometimes, you want that specific flavour..
