i wonder if we will ever find out a reason why? we knew what was the reason when that guy (i can not remember his name off the top of my head) kill those 13 innocent women back in 1989. what was the reason now?

i love the fact that they want you to have first aid training. i am guessing they want you to have incase the dead come back to live and want some first aid.

I think one of the reasons why Jack Layton is against the whole Afghanistan war, is the way we are trying to secure the peace. We have sent troops to basically kill the taliban. and the taliban are trying to the Canadian troops any way they can, either through gun battles, road side land mines or suicide bombers. He wants a "traditional" peacekeeping mission, and i am pretty sure those went out the door after the berlin wall came down. also i dont believe that the democratic process will go peaceful or smoothly in the first 20 years of the "new" afghanistan. it isnt something that just happenes over night, look at Russia, they are still having a lot of trouble with it, same with the Ukraine. it will take some time.

i agree, the canadian public has been left in the dark about most of all information about the mission in afghanistan. it seems to me that the only thing we hear about the mission is the Canadian deaths. we have know idea what other missions we could be running in the country, either combat or harts and minds missions. but... how do you know when a war is going to end? can the generals plan out the war to the last period? they dont know how the enemy is going to react, they dont know how hard they are going to fight, or in most cases, where they are. and since the war is growing more and more unpopular because of the lack of informations and mounting Canadian troops deaths, it seems to me that Jack Layton has jumped onto the anti-war bandwagon. we didnt really hear much from him when we sent in troops back in 2002, but after each death, we hear the NDP calling out in the background "pull-out, pull-out, it's an American war" they should have stood up for it at the very beginning, not now when the liberals first put troops in, and the conservatives added to the mandate. Jack Layton (and the NDP) are just looking for more votes in Quebec (where the war is the most unpopular).

hopefully this weekend it will be drinking, but most of the time it is either homework (working at the school) or just going around ottawa for fun.

i have never been to disney world, the closest (sp?) i have been to disney world was when my father drove past it in our family car on a family trip to florida. my dad casually drove past the outer walls of the "happiest place in the world" and my brother sister and I (i was 13, my brother 15 and sister 17 at the time) had our faces pressed against the glass so we could see it. i havent seen it since ;) but then again, i have reason to see it again, it would more then like cost an arm and a leg to get in. as for the fingerprinting... it is a private company, they can do what ever they want too. in the end, i will mark myself down as "dont care"

once again erik, you cut threw the bullshit and got straight to a good point with this. and for that i say bravo! so i will re-state my opinion on jack layton, i do not like his political view, it is much to different then mine. (as you more then likely already know) as for the link that you gave us. a lot of the fact that were stated are already well know. it is kinda like beating a dead horse, fun but pointless. we all know that afganistan has billions of dollars in natural gas there. and we all know the west loves gas. so it is expected that we would do anything for it. as for the civilian deaths... saddly, that's war. i havent heard of one war were innocent people have died. and as long there is going to be war, there are going to be innocent people dieing for reason. as for innocent people being detained, well when your fighting an enemy that isnt wearing a uniform, it is hard to see the difference between a soldier and a civilian.

i agree, WoW is evil, it destroys people's lives. i knew a guy who missed test at college cause he was playing it too much.

when it gets to ottawa, i will more then likely go see it.

as long as you have a tv and rabbit ear's you should be able to pick up global, ctv and cbc with those. that is all i had last year, and i got the colbert report.

he seems (just like the rest of the NDP party) to be fighting for the little guy, even if the little guy is just one person going one way, and the rest of the country wants to go the other way. plus it is looking like he is using the state of the canadian armed forces for political gain right now.

here is something you should do in res. get some milk, and just keep it your fridge for the year. dont drink it! but at the end of the year when everyone goes for drinks, find that one person who you didnt like all through the year, when he is trashed out of his mind, dump the milk in his bed. i did something similar like this in my last year of res, only it was coffee we had out since october (with an egg added in Feb) and we dumped it into a bed of a guy in my hall that everyone hated.
