  1. The first time I heard Tripoli (as in a few minutes after I bought IAC) I practically shook. It was just...well, the song has a lot of significance for me, and really hits home. I think both are very different, powerful in different ways, and just...insane.
  2. I kinda can't believe no one's mentioned this, but I haven't been on here much, so maybe there's some taboo against this song (I've only seen one mention), but... "How strange how you're not with me? Where has my head gone? Where do you hold up to mutilate the day from me? Where has my head gone? Well, I felt it slip away." That whole song gets me. Every time. The last "I felt it slip away," in either version, consistently sends me into a frenzy of emotion (different emotion with the different versions, I'd say).
  3. Just to jump in, since you asked what Tripoli means to people... Re-listening now. Heh. This is my all time favourite. It basically got me into Matt Good. I was sitting at a friend's house, and she had a random mix CD, and I heard this song on it while we were chatting and just said "Wow, what the hell is that?" Since then it's become something very powerful for me. I was on the verge of tears when first listening to the acoustic on Rooms. I hear it differently than, it seems, most else do. To me it's a song about rebirth. "Where has my head gone..." I see as someone looking back on their life and going "What was I thinking?" Maybe looking at their friends and being surprised they're still there ("Do you hold up..."). Then finally the character feels all the idiocy, all the bad things that have gone on slip away, and he's reborn. I guess I just see the song as so...powerful. Not really upbeat, but sad in the way of like...a breakup that is for the best. Or something that hurts you deeply but only makes you stronger. That's how I see it anyway. -Tom.
  4. Hi all, Forgive a new poster. I tried to search, but couldn't find all of these, or could only find them in tab form, not chords, and I'd prefer chords if it's at all possible or doable. I know very little about the guitar, but I've been doing my best to learn some songs. If anyone could post the chords for some of these, or any of these, I'd really appreciate it. The big ones I've been looking for lately are: While We Were Hunting Rabbits Near Fantastica Tripoli (Acoustic off Rooms) Sort of a Protest Song The Workers Sing A Song of Mass Production Any and all help would be most appreciated. -Tom.
