  3. borntohula: Yeah that's pretty much what I meant. I just really like the way that he sings it in this version because yes, it is more promenant and because it picks up the song and makes it more interesting. In the original the way it's done fits into that version of the song as a slower break where in the Rooms version it's made into the most lively part of the track. I don't know, I just meant that it makes the accoustic version work better sang in a more energetic way than in the original because it fits.
  4. Generation X-Wing is by far my favourite. The change in the middle with "hold me up with a pair of wings..." sounds amazing. It definatly makes the song.
  5. When I read that it was live reworkings I thought that it might be actual live recordings from shows. When I listened to it and it turned out to be studio recordings I was relieved that it wasn't some kind of recording with a bunch of people screaming in the background. But I agree that it would have been better if it was all in one take. Or at least they could have recorded it all in one take and then made it so you could still search through the tracks but when you listened to it all the way through it would just sound like one long session. It's not really that annoying but they could have done it all at once to sound more linear and still included the piano and everything. There just wouldn't have been any of the overlapping harmonies with himself (which do work very nicely I must admit).
  6. PTD wasn't that bad. It's true that it might not be the best one but it might grow on me. I do like the original much better mostly because I've always loved the organs in it. I was expecting it to be a lot more emotion filled and strong accoustically but it does kind of lack something.
  7. From the time I learned of its release, I was looking forward to the Rooms disc from In A Coma. I was not let down. He managed to remix some songs that you would not have been able to imagine as accoustic into really nice versions of the originals. Generation X-Wing was one of the songs that surprised me because I have always loved that song and never pictured it done accoustically. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise and I love the new version. What do you think of the accoustic songs? Any that stand out as particularily well done or maybe that don't work for you guys?
  8. I can hardly contain my excitment! My 7th MG show and second in Calgary. And this should beat the hell out of sweaty drunken cowboys moshing to Apparitions at the Stampede.
